Only a short one but I quite like the riff, reckon I should bother making it into a full track?

Bridge mule in an Epi LP Custom > V-Amp 2 on the plexi model I think. Double tracked, one on each speaker.

Very Sabbath! I like it, quite 'dark'...
-
cool riff, very tight playing, you are an awesome rhythm player, which I hadn't realised so much before.
Cool tone too, wondering if that would still work in band/live context ...
-
Cheers :) Obviously in a band I'd be using a proper amp, not a v-amp :D
-
haha so stoner!
-
that clip $%in rawked man, that is the one of the best tones i heard out of teh Mulez

Thanks for listening :) Have extended this track a bit, let me know what you think - http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=493678&songID=6269357
I wanna record this with my Laney, will have to do that when I get back home in about a months time.

Ah now that headphone avatar makes sense, you are ampless!
Hey just listened to your clip. I am deeply impressed by your composing and recording skills. This is top notch stuff. I even feel inclined to record a vocal track over it ... errr I better don't :O)
Not it's really cool _tom_
Do me a favour and don't become an office dude like me, make a career in music, even if it can be painful economically, you have exceptional talent that would be a shame if it was wasted.

Cheers hunter :) Yeah I'm at uni at the minute which means I dont have an amp, I just have my v-amp 2 and amplitube, both of which sound really uninspiring and dull to me. I'll give it another recording with my GH when I get home, if I can figure out why my mic'd tone has got so thin and cr@p, guessing either my soundcard or mic is broken. Feel free to write some lyrics for me, I've never been good at writing :P
As for the office job, I really dont want to have to work in an office, it was bad enough when I worked at my dads for my 6 week summer holidays

I like the the riff idea very much, bit of a doomy feel to it.
I have a similar mic problem, it seems not to get the whole range, ive tried eqing but it still s@cks. Going to try a condensor usb mic, maybe its just the directness of the sound, so without the rebound from the walls, that throws me off track though......
My Toneport Plexi model also sounds like the Plastic model, its just like that i guess.....
EDIT: Thinking about this maybe a combination of room micing and direct micing will do the trick, owell anyway, still need a condensor mic then.....
-
Thing is I used to be able to get tones which were allright, but now whenever I record it sounds thin and cr@p, no matter where I put the mic. I guess this is a good time for me to purchase a USB interface of some kind, was thinking a Tascam US-122L because you seem to get more for your money than M-Audio.
btw I updated the track again, the drums flow a bit better in the bit after the main riff.

Did another quick mule clip, this time in the middle position, still on the plexi model http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QKD6DLY0

this is a great clip, really love the darkness in the tone, did you use a rat pedal in this? or a fuzz of some kind?
-
Nice clip Tom.
That really reminds me of early Sabbath (which is all good :D ) and I can easily see it being made into a full track.

badass clip todge-man!
