Here's some of mine:
Paul Gilbert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vS6syL0-jM
Andy McKee: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ddn4MGaS3N4
And for you Nintendo heads out there...
Chris Kline: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5JlGQ5orL8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDllKN9V6fo
I'm sure I could make this list a mile long... There's a lot of good stuff, but those come to mind first. Anyone else have any favorites? (Not necessarily from YouTube)

Currently Son House - the source of the blues - his fingerstyle slide technique is brutal (SRV was a pussy compared to Son House hitting grade 16 strings with his bare flesh)

(OK its not that technical but sound pretty good to me)

Andy timmons - Cry for you

Marty Friedman - Little Wing Kind of Ballad

theres obviously too much to list ;) but the first thing that came into my head was Townshend's rhythm/riff improvisations on 'Live at Leeds' -sterling stuff.

I saw Andy McKee with Tommy Emmanuel - absolutely awesome. Got his autograph too. :D

Back in 1974 I recorded a radio show that would introduce me to a life-long
Guitar hero (Rory Gallagher). Rory Gallagher's Walk on Hot Coals brought shear listening ecstasy to my ears.... Now 34 years later I still listen in amazement.
Rory was a rare talent who never sold out.

the thing that impresses me is just good solid rock playing, shread is all good... but its all very samey...
im much more impressed watching bowie and his 12 string, than a random shreadhead

My favorite guitar work will always be from Kirk Hammet of Metallica from back in the day. :D
-
Any note bent by Gary Moore.
Although to get the full effect you need to see his face too...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN7YHbQjwjo
- beautiful arrangement of a pop tune by Pat Metheny

I'm really trying to hold back from posting a whole barrage of videos, so I'm limiting myself to just three (...ok, four)... for now
I have to start with a clip of the guys from SikTh. I first got into them when I saw them playing a clinic similar to this one. From that day I have been constantly wowed by their musicianship and ability, both individually, and even more so when playing together as a pair. No matter how close I think I get to nailing one of their songs, watching this video makes me feel hopelessly inadequate. Even if you're not a metal fan, I urge you to watchi this:
SikTh clinic (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-8aipuDILs)
Secondly, Andy Timmons has to be the most tasteful player I've come across. His note-choice is sublime, and the guy packs so much expression into his playing it's unreal. I've chosen two of his videos, one being one of my all-time favourite guitar instrumental pieces, the second being what I hold up as my holy-grail of non-metal tones:
Super 70's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKeMzevbcgw)
BB preamp demo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiW22O914Cg&feature=related)
Finally, this clip of Reb Beach had a profound impact on me a few years ago when I was starting to get into lead playing. It's the intro to his instructional VHS from the 80s, which i had but lost a couple of years back to an unscrupulous pupil of mine. I only just found this clip up on youtube, and watching it again it's funny to see how many staple licks of mine are nicked from it:
Cutting Loose intro (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8q0Mb_uOG8)

That Sikth vid is GREAT.
Seen it before - And was just as amazed that time.
And a good advert for BKPs!!
The ebony top B2 halfway through the vid is fitted with nailbombs if I remember right.

+1 for Andy Timmons.
I saw him for the first time (on vid) with Vai in the Ibanez 90th Anniversary performance, and I first I thought who's this Simmons guy.
But he just pulled this solo that made my jaws drop straight to the floor, and by the looks of it Vai almost did too. lol

Hah, I forgot to mention that Pin uses BKPs! He has ceramic bridge/AV neck Nailbomb sets in both his Blackmachines.

I can't believe Andy isn't way better known than he is, given his playing and his contacts... He really deserves a lot more coverage in magazines etc. His latest album is just plain incredible guitar music, I urge everyone who reads this to buy it!
He held a clinic at PMT Birmingham at the end of 2007 (that's about 20mins from where I was living then), and I just didn't know about it until a week later. I can't believe I missed out on an opportunity to hear and meet the guy in person...

I often wonder that myself.
He might be very popular in a different part of the world like Japan or Korea perhaps?
Speaking about missed opportunities, I missed DT in beijing last month. :(

Currently, I'm absolutely in love with the chunky approach of Mr Tim Sult. Riffage that manages to be both big and clever.

Jesus Lizard - Shot
Hey Mercedes - Loses Control

I like the 'pirate mode' lesson he gave - such good technique!
I've not heard much of Chris Broderick but I found this one which was quite impressive...

Another BKP player! =)

If you want to be scared absolutely shiteless by pure technique alone there is no other than Shawn Lane (R.I.P)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fkjp4r8wINA&feature=related
That, my friends, is perfect technique.
But if its fun I want I'll stick to the Young brothers of AC/DC, rock genius at its best!
