Title: Screw collar trem arm

I've got a licensed floyd with a screw collar trem arm. The trem works very well, but after a couple of divebombs the arm starts coming loose. I understand this is a common problem with this type of arm. Anyone know of a quick fix?

PTFE tape.  can be found in the plumbers section of your local B&Q

wrap  the tape around the section that inserts in the trem, it should take away any slack and just help it all grip a bit better

Actually, the tape works, but you have to take the two collars off first and put JUST A FEW wraps around the bar UNDER the collars.
    pry the little white collars off with yourfingrnail or small screwdriver
   Be carefull not to break them, they are a little dificult to pry off without them springing right back on.
Don't put but a couple wraps on, or the bar might not pop back in,  a couple wraps actually does the trick
 then put the collars back on where they go, and it should stay firm and not swing around.   EnJOY!

Will this tape work similarily on the edge pro trems where there is no screw on collar, it just slides in and out...  Mine's kind of wobbly in the socket, not very tight.  I'm thinking a couple of wraps around the base will help out?  Hopefully it would also make it stay put... it flops down to straignt down and swings when I let go of it...

Some Ibanez Floyds have a pair of small grub screws that tighten or loosen the nylon rings in the trem arm hole to the required amount of stiffness or slop you prefer.
You can see the top one by divebombing the strings and looking at the rear of the Floyd just below where the arm enters.
To get at the bottom one you need to remove the cover plate from the spring cavity and pull the arm back as far as it will go and there's just enough room to slide in the correct sized allen key that came with the set provided with the guitar.
If you still can't get at it the only solution is to remove the strings and the springs and take the Floyd right out of the guitar to adjust  the grub screws. You'll also notice that there's a spring loaded screw for adjusting how deeply the arm fits down the hole.

Thank you Pagan!!!  You nailed it.  I got mine second hand, and it didn't come with the allens.  If any of you are in a similar situation, the edge pro  III Tremolo's use a 2 mm allen.  I was not able to fit the allen I had in from behind in the spring cavity, but if I cut up the allen I will.  I don't want to run my nice set, so I'm going to get a separate one and shorten the short end up.  It'll fit easy then.  I was able to tighten the top one, and it's much better.  It stays in place pretty well, and doesn't flop around.  THANKS!
