Title: I need your assistance please
Post by: Beserkr on February 18, 2008, 01:31:23 AM
Hello all, new guy here looking to get his first set of BKP's.  I currently have a Fender '62 Reissue Strat s/s/s with a set of John Suhr V60's (7.2K ohms for bridge, 6.3K ohms for neck and middle pickups) and I just picked up a Fender '67 Reissue Strat s/s/s CIJ thats stock for the time being.  I'd like to install a set of the BKP single coils that would be hotter than the V60 and be able to cover blues to 80's rock.  What would you suggest.  Also I don't think this will matter but i'm a lefty that playes lefty and the neck has a 7.25” Radius.

Thanks
Mike

I would say irish tours.

I'm no single coil guy though, so wait for lots of other advice.

I agree Irish Tours. I have a set in a custom shop fender strat. They sound awesome played clean or dirty. There are some good sound clips in the players section the one of the Comfortably Numb solo sold them to me and I haven’t been disappointed  :D

Welcome.

Yep, Irish Tours.

Very tasty for blues/rock.

Mine are in a non-export Fender Japan 62 re-issue. They replaced the Texas Specials that came with it. To my ear they're same kind of output as the TS's but with more definition, more strat-like. Initially they seemed less "warm", but then I realised that that's because they're clearer sounding, much more tone to play with. I liked the TSs, but the ITs are something else, I wouldn't go back in this guitar.
