... just for a laugh and oh how I love it.
Problem is, now I want another electric so I can leave it permanently downtuned to C.
-
And the problem is ... ?
:D
-
Go buy one then!
(My acoustic has to mirror my electrics tuning: most of my stuff that has clean or acoustic parts is in C#, so there it stays).
-
I want guitars so I can use different tunings.
I currently have guitars for standard, drop C and drop B. Many more to come, lol..
Get another Fernandes, as I know you love your Ravelle.

Now you can play 'Los' by Rammstein!

I couldn't relate more to this. It has been a few years now that my nice acoustic guitar (that I can only play when I am at my parents place, at X-mas usually) in standard C. I just lobe the sound and feel.
Now that the Studio has been granted more than decent pups (and that is quite an understatement), the Epi will end up tuned in C. Just need to find trick to make my set of '59s more tight in the lows.

I love the sound oc acoustics in open C... and electrics... you've now reminded me i need another guitar on my list :(
-
detuned acoustics sound great!
-
Uh oh, I apologise if I made anyone buy a new guitar, heh.
-
now you can play mosquito song by queens of the stone age!
love that band... maybe a little toooo much.
-
My acoustic is set up like my electrics so its been in C# for a while, I've just started messing around with some alternate tunings, ended up with a variation on Double Drop B, loads of cool octave sounds going on! Really melancholy sounding.

That was one of the reasons, tbh, I was sat listening to some dodgy music TV stuff and Purple Rain by Prince came on so I played along and then all of a sudden, The Everlasting Gaze by Smashing Pumpkins jumped in there so I down-tuned and then had to have an inevitable QOTSA-fest and now I can't help but play No One Knows when I pick it up.

I keep my 12-string in C tuning, which is something I've never done with an electric. The main reason is that the neck is (probably) warped so the strings are hard to press down, which downtuning helps a bit. But somehow it also sounds more folky that way. So in C standard it stays.
