What amp head would be good for running a Boss GT-6 through? At the moment I've got a JCM800 2203 which needs servicing so I've been gigging with my back-up, a Crate Powerblock.
So any heads out there work really well with the pedal doing the bulk of the work?

why cant you use the boss into the powerblock??

I do :) It sounds alright actually. Some bands really look unimpressed if they sharing our backline at a gig. :D Small single, single channel amps with minimal controls are the fututre 8)
I was just curious if there was anything better out there.

if you havent already, try pluggin the boss into the CD in phono sockets.. it bypasses the powerblocks speaker sim and stuff... means you have no control over the power block at all.. but you can control from the boss... might need a stereo jack to phonos cable... im not entirely sure what outs on your specific boss to use..
its just an idea anyway.. its ment to improve the sound anyway for running multi fx or modelers in

A standard mono guitar lead plugged into the FX loop send/rtn socket will connect into exactly the same part of the circuit, and is what I would suggest. I will repeat the emphasis that all volume control will then need to come from the GT-6.

alternatively you could run it into a certain Peavey 50/50 Classic poweramp on the seconds out forum. It's a very nice, and very affordable solution for guitar poweramps.

Would I then just run the power amp straight in to a cab?

Yup :)
I imagine that'd be a really versatile sounding setup, aslong as you spent the time programming your GT6 that is :)
