Got there a bit late so i only managed to catcha couple of evile songs but they were some of the better ones such as bathe in blood and enter the grave.
Job for a cowboy were appalling the entire crowd were stood there as if in a supermarket que, ill upload a vdeo of this later.
Megadeth were awesome apart from them playing Gears of war in B or something as ridiculously low but mustaine did apologise for it sounding cr@p.
Broderick was awesome, reminded me a lot of friedman as he had that certain flair to his playing.
So apart from JFAC it was an amazing night, oh yeah the rail replacement bus back from manchester was also a joke after being at the front of the gig and being completely worn out by the time it came to leaving.

And was he still playing 7-strings and/or BKPs?
(Not that there's any way you'd be able to tell if he had BKPs, but I've said it anyway...)
-
Yea Job for a cowboy were shite. However Evile and Megadeth were awesome. I was really surprised by Evile as I've not really listened to their music before but they were brilliant. I'm definately gonna get their album and would love to see them live again.
I think I was was stood right behind you at one point during megadeth. Were you wearing a metallica world tour tshirt?

Yes i was :D
and yeah broderick was using engls a really nice ibanez 7 string with quilt maple finish and i presume bks.
And yeah evile are awesome i know matt & ol theyre good lads, a lot of people say they made it big easy but they worked there asses off getting to where they are now.

Was this the beast that Chris was using?
Such a beautiful guitar...
He uses Cold Sweats by the way. Apparently he gets confused and calls them Mules though, hence why if you'll read into it a lot of places say he uses a Cold Sweat/Mule combo.
-
yes it is.
I never really liked 7 strings before but thats made me want one
-
surely that's a WP bridge, no?
-

Can you really tell from just the bobbins? :S
-
I don't think the guitar had BKs in at that point.
-
Is it just me or is there no locking nut there :?
-
Yep Chris has all his guitars without a locking nut. He only uses the trem lightly and has locking tuners. Fairly unusual though.
-
No locking nut makes sense for a quick(er) string change I guess.
That bridge pickup in the photo looks like a Dimarzio to me, but I could be wrong. The bobbins/hex screws on the uncovered WP are a bit bigger, and slightly more raised.

Yeh i was thinking it looked like DiMarzio too.
-
I was going to ask this before - But are Sperzels enough?
Ie, could you have no locking nut if you have locking tuners?
And if so, if I put some Sperzels on my Ibanez, what would I do with the nut? Too late to put in an Earvana right?
-
Yeah, unfortunately I reckon it will be. Obviously Wez or Feline would know for sure, but I'd say it'd take a serious bit of woodworking to replace the locking nut with an Earvana. You'd probably also have to fill the holes through the neck where the locking nut is currently attached.
Locking tuners are pretty good. I've got Sperzels on my Soloist, and although it doesn't have a Floyd, just a Wilkinson set up to give about a 1 and half tone upbend, it stays in tune pretty well, even when I'm quite vicious with it.

i got that vid on my phone still tony, im not at mine so i cant tooth it to my mac yet, the boo'ing we started was funny, then the guy just went "who is here to see megadeth" or something so everyone would cheer!! cop out!!
megadeth sounded pretty brutal though.. very proffesional nower days, and the prophesy sounded awsome!! mustaine was def still using his SD sig pickups.. could see the sig on them
if you were stood behind tony.. could you see much cos most of the time me, dan and dave were all stood next to him.. nobody could see anything past us :D
-
haha, yea I'm quite tall so could see fine. My mate actually likes job for a cowboy and was a bit pissed off that people were booing, but he's abit of a fool
-

You could get one of these (http://www.allparts.uk.com/ebanol-metal-base-11116-inch-p-4306.html?p=product). Not very pretty, I know, but should do the job.

Know if they're any good?
-
Not a clue, I'm afraid.

hex screws .. but, he could have them factory customised, like i have my MM and VHII
upon further inspection.. those are dimarzios.. the pickup legs are different

Yeah thats true im 6'4 and your a bit taller and dans 6'3
I think my only complaints about megadeth were gears of war being so low tuned and how loud the solos were in hangar 18.... damn that was ear piercing
-
That guitar is still stock but all Chris' guitars have BKPs in them, in fact we've just had to supply some more direct to him on tour.

Awesome! :D
I'd love to be on First name terms with Chris Broderick...
