Guys,
Does anyone know of an adapter that will let me convert from the small bushings (M4 i think) to the larger 'vintage' style posts (or perhaps just some posts that fit that criteria)? I've got a piezo bridge that i'd like to install, which came with vintage sized bushings and posts, but the guitar i'd like to put it in has a Schaller t-o-m with the smaller post.
Drilling for the larger posts isn't an option ;) It's for my Ran with a Nailbomb in the bridge :)
Cheers!

I'm a bit confused, if it's a vintage style tune-o-matic (i.e. ABR-1 type, with the screw-in posts), it should fit the small Schaller posts anyway. Or is one of them the type with a slot in the top of the post?
Have you got a picture or two?

Basically, my guitar currently has these style posts:

I need posts with the same thread size, but with the larger 'vintage' style tops to them, like these ones:

So i have the small threads, with the large posts on the top :)
If that doesn't make sense, i'll do a drawing :P

can you not change the whole lot....... or buy a new bridge :D

Ah, that's where I was confused - those slot-heads aren't vintage posts, these are vintage posts:

Anyway, I've never seen any adaptors for small-to-large posts. I'm pretty sure I saw some for large-to-small/vintage, but I can't remember where (not that that would help).
I think you might have to resort to pulling the studs and replacing them with the large ones.

Probably not too dificult to thread your own....... I nearly had to myself, but decided to redrill the holes.

Ah, my bad :)
I've considered making my own, but without a metal lathe, it'd be pretty inaccurate- so i might just make some inserts the sit around the current posts to make them as large as the hole in the new bridge is.
I don't want to drill out the holes for the bigger posts- there's no going back then!

What's the internal and external diameters needed? I'm sure you could get some made up for next to nothing (in wood or metal). There are plenty of people with lathes who work for tea and biscuits :D
Personally, I think if they were a dark wood, they'd look prety awesome.
