can anybody recommend a good practice amp for home use?
-
those Vox Valvetronix amps are pretty nice; just a matter of what your budget is really then as to which you go for.
What kind of music are you looking to play?
-
So many options, as Indy says.
What's your budget?
How loud are you allowed to play?
What tones are you after?
-
about 300$. not very loud.

As per my usual amp suggestion: Vox AD30VT - You can turn down the power to 0.5 Watts if needed. Should be in your price range too.

Pocket POD and headphones

I recommend you use a THD Hot Plate on your current (very good) rig. That will come to about $300 if you pay full retail at a place like Matt Uminov.
-
Whats the current rig? have i missed that?
-
What about the Fender Vibro Champ XD, or Super Champ??

The problem with those amps is that 'XD' is an 'anime face' online and i cant help but laugh at it every time i see it.

The OP and I spoke on the telephone yesterday about many guitar-related topics.
He has a Lee Jackson modded Marshall head (don't know the exact model) and a Mesa 2x12!

thanks for all the helpful advise.
actually i narrowed it down to
the roland micro cube
or the vox da-5 ..anybody have any experience with them?
yea 5watts is more than enough for practicing at home.
-
I'd go with the Hot Plate, I use one on my Rockerverb 50 and it's superb. I'm considering getting another to put on my TT.

vox da 5 as a practice amp sounds like a much larger amp....not a bad practice amp...still tempted to buy one for me..I mean my son
