Title: For the EMG lovers...
Post by: hermz on February 26, 2008, 09:12:24 AM
Suck my BKPs!

I ordered these for my ESP Custom V. I'll have pics of them in the V soon. Best looking BKP covers I've got so far.

The bridge pickup is a ceramic Warpig and the neck pickup is a Holy Diver.

I would've got those engraved t make them look just that tad classier.

Even though my bridge pickup isnt engraved im going to get my neck one done as thats the one that everyone will see when im playing.

$%&#ing gorgeous, they would look heavenly in a none-more-black guitar!

A nice little inscription would've looked killer there. ;)

I know what you mean - they look great
I had a set of Painkillers last year just like that
Put them in one of my Vs

oo, they do look nice.

are these covers made of metal or plastic?
does tim supply them?
which slug/screw configuration is underneath?

I figured they were just modified versions of these (http://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=586) so the poles were hidden?

I just requested matte black covers with no pole pieces exposed. The covers are metal, not plastic. They're looking awesome in my guitar too. Sounding even better.

They look awesome, although I can't help but think that a small 'BKP' logo in white or silver would be even better.

Yeah, that would look cool. I like the plain black look though. I might order more like this. I still have one guitar yet to be Bare Knuckled!

Exactly like that but with BKP written in the bottom right would be a great kick in the face to EMG, and would look AWESOME :D

I must admit I like the allen bolted version a whole lot better, like in your avatar. But it is indeed very black.

None more black ...  :D

But yeah .. BKP small script lower right corner would rock.

Cr@p! I didn't knew that it would be done by BKP!!!

I'll ask for this when I order a Rebel Yell or Nailbomb

I remember 6 months ago... I asked for the exact kind of cover for my BKPs.

Tim said that he didn't offered them.... and destroyed my dream of having a "EMG style" humbuckercover with a small engraved elegant "BKP"

totally unfair

it's not EMG style, it's gibson iommi/duncan mustaine style (which look a lot cooler than EMG's!)
EMG's have the grainy satin grey plastic

a logo like this would look great:

we are proud of having BKP's and we want to show it!

or maybe it shows that BKP are willing to listen to the customers and look into ways of doing things they havnt previously offered!

loookin' good hermz mate.

Damn, that 12 screw warpig above just made me second guess my order of only have 6 screws on my warpig, haha oh well.

Post by: PhilKing on July 28, 2008, 12:31:37 PM
I thought the double screw pole pieces was what bave the Warpig some of its bass?  I guess they have to change the wind for a single row of screws.  I know my double screw coil Nailbomb has more bass because of the screw coils (this was also the effect that Tim said it would have). Just to get you going even more, here is my explorer with a Warpig/MQ combo in raw nickel!

you mean the picture I posted?  it's a cold sweat.  I specifically asked for the 12 screw cover on the bridge, decided to leave the neck standard

Woops, my bad. Looks great though, I'm fairly confident in my 6 screw choice - we shall see what mine sound like in a couple weeks :)

And just to show all options, here's my black covered warpig with screw pole pieces (that also usurped a set of EMGs):

Usurped? You mean supplanted?

Usurped means comandeered or stole.

You may be right. Though I like the idea of the Warpig comandeering the guitar...
