I just felt it in... LONDON?!
What the HELL?
-
Not just London ...
Sky is reporting other areas to ...
"Tremors have reportedly been felt across Britain.
Sky News has received reports of rooms shaking in Manchester, Oldham, Windsor and Dunstable."
Nothing in Glasgow though.

I spoke to people in Leeds and Liverpool who felt it too :o
-
I felt it here in Leeds, damned awesome, love it when nature shows it's force! and people don't die... naturally.
-
linky thing to where it happened etc.

it really freaked me, the missus & son out! We genuinely thought that the house was going to collapse, bricks did fall!
-
ops, maybe I shouldn't have turned all on 10 on my Marshall?

Damn it Hunter! Not again!
-
Mrs 38th said that the earth moved, I thought it was me-obviously not.
-
I FELT IT TOO! In hertfordshire.
I thought my house was falling down or I was tripping out or something...
I ruled out an Earthquake completely just because I thought it's too far fetched for an earthquake in England.
AWESOME. THAT IS SO COOL!

They do happen. I remember the last really significant one in 1984, slept through this one though...
-
:D That explains it. At about 5 minutes to 1am this morning my bed started shaking !
:D 8)
-
I didn't feel it :( I feel tricked!

Yeah- just been seeing on the news that they're not uncommon?!
What rock have I been living under... :?
-
It was a very strange experience - I thought it was my house finally giving in to subsidence! But I assumed it must be a mild quake.
I have a work colleague whose partner died last month - she thought he was visiting her from beyond the grave! :o
It was a relief to see on the news that there really had been an earthquake.
-
slept through this one, slept through the one in 2002 as well. was probably too young to remember the great quake of 84.
--- why do they never seem to happen during the day!!
-
Because it's a conspiracy, they're clearly testing noocleear weapons.
Noooocleaaaarrrr. Does that sound G.Bush enough?
-
Noooocleaaaarrrr. Does that sound G.Bush enough?
I'm not sure - I think he might go one stage dumber and pronounce it "noo-cular".
-
I think he would definitely push it to the extreme...
Perhaps:
"noo-cular-isation-ing-ment"
-
Actually, Bush would say 'nu-nu-nu-REALLY BIG BOMBS!'
-
More like "Me want big bang"
-
I think those last 5 posts were a beautiful thing- through a process of refinement we reached the pinnacle of emulation of Bush's brain activity. Marvellous.
-
I felt it, at about 1am? I thought it was some drunk tw@ts trying to get into the flat cos it sounded like the front door was just being shaken really hard

I also ruled out Earthquake, I was thinking like... Nahhhhhhh impossible! And then I started refreshing the BBC news page and nothing came up, I was really creeped out! Then about 20 mins later it appeared :P

My mate called me saying someone had spiked his drink, LOL.

LOL!
I didn't feel it at all, though it takes something really big and loud to wake me up in the middle of the night!

In theory, I can't really think of something much more big and loud than an Earthquake!
-

i didn't notice anything here, by the way. though i'm not terribly quick on the uptake.
-
I thought it was my manic Croatian lesbian neighbours plugging in their latest orgasmatron into my electricity supply!
-
^
What's the news on that whole electric-lesbian story?
EDIT: Dave- even people who aren't very quick on the uptake would probably notice an earthquake if it affected their area.

12:58 (dunstable/AY ish time) - Was sitting on bed playing guitar, my vibrato also went weird :P
^ I have two auto setting clocks(because I'm cool), just to be reliable. Either one works or the other

I didn't feel anything.
The first thing I heard about it was an email from my boss this morning.
He's a large fellow, so I emailed back asking if he had rolled out of bed, thus causing it.
He replied that he had, falling off my wife in the process...
W@nker.

anyone who walks around with his eyes closed is automatically a badass.

With all the news on TV lately about the extreme weather conditions affecting the East Coast of the US, the mud slides in the Middle East and South America, along with the dire predictions made by such films as The Day After Tomorrow, we shouldn't forget that Britain has its share of devastation too.
I've attached a photo illustrating the damage caused to a friend's home from the earthquake that hit lincolnshire the other night. It really makes you cherish what you have, and reminds us not to take things for granted.
-

Wow, Johnny... it's shocking!
Those flower baskets look dangerously close to falling- that would result in a pretty nasty scratch in the decking and a serious soil spillage. :o
-
hahahahahahahaha

I laughed so hard!!!

apparently there were people who felt the rumbling in Newcastle too, but that may just be a beer/kebab combo
no surprise I slept right through it - we'd need War Of The Worlds to wake me from my slumber

Well a surveyor was supposed to come and sort this out yesterday. He cancelled all his appointments but failed to let me know. I waited in all day for him and lost a days money. The Croat tuppence lickers screwed down all their flooring on Saturday morning as I heard them beavering around. Pun 'not' intended!
