So after not being able to wire them in my Greco LP copy from my thread in the tech forum I had an epiphany. I've had this Jackson SLSMG for a while now and it's always been too bright since the person I bought it from had a JB and Jazz installed with 1meg pots. Having this set of Warpigs lying there and not being able to put them in was getting to me so I looked left...looked right.....
...nobody around. Ran to the basement and fired up the soldering iron, IT'S GO TIME!
After my experience with trying to completely rewire a LP from scratch this was like giving candy to a baby. De-solder 4 connections, remove duncans, put in BK's, solder 4 connections. PIE.
1meg pots aren't for everybody but for me, with the Warpigs, fuhgeddabahdit  They darkened up the sound the perfect amount for me. I can also see how adjustable these are as people have said. I was doing more tweaking than a crackhead taking a history test. Admitedly I was slightly skeptical of peoples comments of BKP's in general but they really are IT. I just want to play all night but I have 2 parties to go to. More tomorrow with pics, it's a beautiful thing.

These things are amazing. Clear, heavy, tight, EVERYTHING! There was somebody here a while ago that wanted to do metal rhythm on the neck pickup and I didn't think it would sound good...until now. It's even tight and huge sounding on the neck pickup! The volume roll-off is sweet too. Gets very clean and its so smooth and even throughout the range of the pot. I'm a believer! I HAVE the power! amen.

Thats $%ing gorgeous

Thanks!
I think the black and the "battle scars" of the pickup goes PERFECTLY with the ebony board and piranha inlays. I am one happy dude

Yes, yes they do. And so you should be!

You waited to do this???????
Awesome looking guitar - now for some clippys :D

Look for 'em in the players section in a few days. I came up with a few things for our band that I'm looking to record soon. The recording quality will be bad though...all I have is a very cheap mic directly into the soundcard. I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to recording

Looks really sweet dude :)
BKP's really are the nuts. Nobody believes you when you tell them, then they try them...

That's the way I was. I thought to myself, I'm sure they're good but they can't be as good as what these crazy people are saying on this forum. Well...now I'm crazy too. :crzy:
WFD: I'll work on some clips tomorrow ;)

Thanks guys. And thanks to Hermz for putting one on his guitar and giving me the idea. I just asked for the battle-worn black finish. I don't remember if I put a link to Hermz's battle-worn black pickups or not when ordering, but it can't hurt to put a link to a pic if you're ordering them.

Looks great. Love the battle-worn finish, I imagine it could be a little too much in some guitars but fits that one nicely!
