All the footage was of his motorbike trip across Africa, so I assumed it was some repeat or a new series or whatever... totally took me by surprise at the end.

I actually did a double-take when I heard him reveal that it was an aftershave ad.

Adverts like that freak me out.  You see people like Nicole Kidman doing ads as well.  

Why??? They can't possibly, by any stretch of the imagination, need the money.  Is it some sort of weird ego trip, or are they just so greedy that they can't pass up so much cash for so little work?

I watched some of long way down. I can't say i was that impressed. Still haven't seen the first one, you know around it as opposed to down it. I really didn't see this ad coming, I mean it's not even bleeding Christmas! Perhaps their expenses were that high and DVD sales that low that this was required. They're loads of bike 'rally' DVDs made every year, I've been involved in a few. They just didn't get enough hedonism in theirs for me.

Anyway I bet it smells like a Bull Elephant in musk and a Baboons arse. Just what every aspiring chav adventurer needs on a 'Freedy Neet' to breed more surplus wastrels.  :wink:

Yeah!  That's what my wife said when we saw that the other night.

Shame, cos he seems to be an otherwise pretty cool bloke.  Apart from not playing the guitar, obviously.

Lol, he does that as well I think. I'm sure he gets a guitar out and does a song in the first series of long way round

I have no issues with it.

Aftershave/perfume companies very often use 'Celebs' to advertise their products.
