Which is the best?
Does anyone know of any sound samples on the net so i can listen to em? as i am intested in gettin one but wanna hear it and poss play one before i buy.
If you've played one wat do u think?
-
Well it really depends what you want to play...
I'd guess that the overdrive pedal sounds best for overdrive, boost for boost, distortion for distortion...
Welcome to the forum

cheers, well im a lead guitarist in a metal band, but i play a wide range, i like playin everything i guess, i play alot of stuff like dragon force, steve vai, marty friedman, real fast solo with shed elements so i wanna real hot tone that'll will sing when im playin soloing as well as a awsome metal sound for wen im doin riffs etc i've been lookin at the dist x that sounds pretty ace
-
any suggestions??
-
Yeah the Distortion X is really good - really genuine distortion sound because of the valve in it...
But if you want a distortion pedal for all out medal i would definately go for the Krank Distortus Maximus
-
how bad is the gain shortage that they say on sites?
-
thing is i got a engl powerball and its awsome, so i wanna get the best out of it and with a great distortion pedal it would be a match made in heaven.

HT-Dual does everything the other pedals does for £139.
Complete no brainer - the Dual rules. Fantastic pedal.

I can't wait to get one of these, i have been drooling over one for ages!
-
They're a valve pre-amp in a box for £139. Unbelieveable pedal.

I'm really interested in the HT Dual now, I didnt realise it has a speaker emulated output. Any idea how thatd sound going into a pair of half decent headphones, or will it not have enough power to drive them? Seems like it might be a good practise "amp" and also something to use to boost my real amp at home, or does it not do a tubescreamer style overdrive effect so well?
edit - found some clips of it direct in, sounds good on lower gain but when the gain goes up it sounds much more artificial :( The Award Session JD-10 sounds good and more "real" from the clips on their site but I they're not exactly the kinda style I'd play..

It's not a tubescreamer. It works best when your amp is set for clean/light crunch then you have a rock rhythm and a solo setting on the Blackstar.
Basically, it turns a single channel amp into a three channel one.

+1. I push my Orange in this way, cooler than cool!
Mark.

Reckon it'd work with a JCM800? I'm dubious because the Mesa V-Twin sounded TERRIBLE in front of the '800.
-
Set the 800 clean-ish, and yes.
Tom - clips on the web aren't the be-all and end-all. You should try one out in person :)
