Well, I've got my Les Paul back now (picture to follow) and I've got one comment.
Bare Knuckle Pickups are like Ronseal. They do exactly what they say on the tin. (well, box...)
If the Painkiller is a Ferrari, then the Burstbucker Pro is a Renault Clio 186. With a broken exhaust. Being thrashed horribly.
The clean tone has just the right amount of growlyness - not overwhelming, not harsh, not rough. As for the overdrive tone... Oh yes. I hit the intro chords from 'Run to the Hills' and was blown away...
There's only one downside. I have a feeling that they're going to make the Dirty Fingers in my new SG (The one I haven't got yet) sound really bad...

Well, I find that very encouraging as I've finally got a body awaiting a Painkiller install.
Glad you like it, can't wait to get mine off the ground!

Alder. A while ago I had a conversation with Tim in which I named a few BKs I didn't own but would like to have and asked him what the ideal body would wood is for each pickup.

That's interesting, I had the PK pegged as a mahogany pickup - for no reason other than the Judas Priest connection.

(Bump)
Guess who let their camera go flat...
Managed to dig out the charger tonight...

I read they prefer to record with strats...
