Hi, I'm new to this forum and I've never bought any BK pickups. However, I'd really like to buy new ones to replace the stock ones.
I own a Jackson DK2M Dinky. It's the one with the floyd rose, an alder body, a maple neck AND a maple fretboard. There is a JB in the bridge and a SH-2 Jazz in the neck. It's a good guitar but I believe the 100% maple neck makes it sound too thin with the JB in the bridge. I play all kinds of rock music, but mainly trash metal and death metal so I'd like to beef up the sound and be able to play crushing palm mute riffs... But the JB doesn't have the "chug" I'm looking for, it's too clear. (I play through a roland cube 60 btw, so I don't have the warm tube sound.)
I checked all of the pickups and I thought about getting a warpig with alnico V since ceramic may sound too thin without a tube amp. I've heard that the Holy Diver would be a good choice too... but I'd like a big beefy distortion.
I really don't know what to do... a good advice would be grateful. :?

name a song and ill record a clip of it with my miracle man for you :D

The HD sounds close to what you want, I think if you want more power, then its to be the WP, however, no experience with the 'pig personally

I don't know what song... I'm into "unpopular" music... but if I say something like Fear of napalm by terrorizer it would be cool, it isn't really hard to play and you can easily find the tabs. I really love this song, punchy but simple. If you don't want to learn it just play a good trashy song you like.
I'd be glad to give the miracle man a try, I've heard it's a bit like an emg 81. Thanks man.
Edit: Thanks for the advice Will.

I can only speak for the alnico Warpigs but these will give you a really massive, thick tone without sacrificing warmth for power.
My other guitarist uses them in a Les Paul and they certainly improved the clarity in the low end.
They're maybe not to be confused with other 'high output' pickups though. You can still get a lot of tones out of these things but they do excel at high volumes with the gain piled on!

Couldn't agree more. Had my Alnico WP set in a maple thru-neck ESP with a floyd orginally (they now live in my avatar guitar), and they warmed it up a treat, while boosting the power like you wouldn't believe.
They are very versatile though, and sound great coil tapped too.

... crushing palm mute riffs ... chug ... big beefy distortion...
If this is what you're after, you certainly won't be disappointed with Warpigs. I tried one in the bridge of my Strat (alder body, maple neck/board) to see what it would sound like. Makes you grin from ear to ear to be able to get a sound like that out of a Strat.

Does anybody know what the uncovered version of the warpig looks like? I don't want the big cover, it's just going to look weird, especially on a white guitar.

Then again, the distressed covers look pretty cool on a white guitar:

On mine, the Allen head bolts are much smaller and indented, more like a Duncan Full Shred. Looks pretty neat.

Mine (http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh23/george204/FVG_WP.jpg) has a double row of screw poles. I guess you need to specify when you order...
