For some reason I had never listened to this album until today. Does this mean there is something wrong with me?
Also, I had never seen The Great Escape until a couple of years ago.
-
I've never listened through a whole AC/DC song.
I have a feeling more than half the forum now hate me. :?

Not me, I hate AC/DC too! :D

It seems this AC/DC virus is worse than we first thought - the boys down at the lab are working on a cure and you'll all be loving the 'DC by this time next week
Seriously though, how can you not like AC/DC? (WTF!!!) :?

But people who actually HATE them?!

Girls always seem to feel that way about DC, Hmmmmm
-
'DC needs to be cranked, when your out and about, or with your mates. I'd never listen to it at home.

You should see some of the girls at our gigs - they're madder for it than the blokes!

I still haven't. I've only got 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap' (And I only got that a few weeks ago...)
Can I just add that I don't like ET? And I've never seen Titanic...
(Why do I want to add 'Jaws was never my scene and I don't like Star Wars')?
-
I used to really like ACDC but I've gone off them so much recently. Still a great tone and great players but I get sick of all the songs sounding exactly the same. Does this mean I'm turning into a woman, Kilby? :o
-
Bunch of heretics!

Just means you're turning into a prog rocker  Do you like Jethro Tull and Yes?

 I do like some Yes songs actually, but I've never heard any Jethro Tull.

Dunno about turning into a woman, but definately going a bit girly ;)
TBH I havn't been too interested in the material they have produced since Back in Black, though live they are still a joy to behold (which is amazing in itself).
They still make me happy when I hear them, but my preference is for the earlier material
The girl comment was due to the fact that when I was younger (much younger) even the girls into rock who adored Gillen, Tygers of Pan Tang Thin Lizzy and the like, never seemed to like DC
-
I'd love AC/DC if they got shot of that dreadful excuse for a singer they got to replace Bon Scott.

come on Dave, that was a low blow - that would be my idea of a nightmare (ARGH!!! prog-rock is haunting my dreams HEEELLPPP!!!!)
still, he dissed the 'DC and he must pay the price - four consecutive listens of Aqualung

Sounds like a porn film.
EDIT (after Googling): Oh......

Don't like ET? Good. Haven't seen Titanic? Don't.

I'm more into comedy films. Not cringe worthy just, ha ha awesome stuff.

 !!!
The worrying thing is... my primary school nickname was dangerously close: "Chadders"... I don't remember any Polish kids in my class. :?
-
I must be Unchodderful :D
AC/DC is all about balls out - no nonsense - tasteful - elegant - sleazy ROCK!
-
You'll get no anti-AC/DC sentiments from me! :) I've got just about everything they've done, including the Australian versions of the early albums. Well, except for some of the DVDs.
I agree that the stuff with Brian has never quite equalled the Bon years, even though he's been with the band 3 times as long now. Powerage is the pick of the bunch for me.
(Oh, and I like Jethro Tull. I'll take those four consecutive listens of Aqualung, voluntarily!)
-

WTF? Are they the same songs but with an Australian hint to them? i.e. Have a tinny on me instead of Have a drink on me?!?!?
-
One of the best rock albums ever although I prefer the If you want blood... live album for the shear energy! I listen to it all the time at work and I can't stop moving to the beat then someone looks at me all funny

I know you're kidding, but they have different track listings. The Oz versions of High Voltage, Dirty Deeds and Let There Be Rock are all different from the rest-of-the-world versions, and there's an "extra" Oz album, TNT.
The R-O-W version of High Voltage was a sort of "best of" the Australian High Voltage and TNT albums. A lot of the "missing" tracks from those records turned up on the '74 Jailbreak album.

Ah - I see. Thanks for clearing that up!

Don't own ANY AD/DC stuff, but when I was a kid in garage bands their songs were always the common ground for getting to know other musicians. Almost an intrinsic understanding of how to play Whole Lotta Rosie or Shook Me All Night Long without ever having actually heard the originals or knowing what the chords were.
Respect for that alone.
Has anyone mentioned Amy Winehouse yet?
-

Yeah that puts me off the newer acdc stuff as well, hes really shite in comparison. I still wanna see them live though. I have some of their live stuff on my computer and its much better than the studio albums. I really like the If You Want Blood.. live album :D It features the greatest rock tone ever.

They have now. :)

Iv'e been wonfering for they lat hour why anybody would wish to do so

AC/DC are a great band. Back in black is an album without a cr@p song on it which is rare. I preferred the Scott era stuff though
-
I must get some therapy - not only do I think AC/DC are great but I prefer Brian over Scott....
I mean who could resist these legs  http://www.crabsodyinblue.com/acdchelenoftroy.htm

We are not alone in our appreciation of AC/DC

I've seen that before. Disturbing and shocking. The next one who posts that should be banned from this forum.

I think its a pretty damn good cover all things considered...
Infact it makes me respect the two of them alot more.
