A guy who has had his head and hands cut off has been found near my town!
It's damn creepy!
-
Unable to establish the cause of death!!
Errr - do you think that having his head cut off might have contributed to this?
-
Sounds like CIS man ... creepy!
time to write a song about it: "Man Without Heads" :O)
-
Yeah this is in the village where I want to primary school!!!
In fact, it's RIGHT behind where a friend of mine lives- "Icknield Close", behind the garages. I've been there countless times!!! Spooooky
-
I remember it too - in the dark ages when I lived in Hitchin. Probably all the inbred farmers at their tricks again.
-
Oi, farmers are not ALL inbred!
Well if its a traveller, it may well be a farmer that has done it, but I think they can get quite territorial when they kick one off of a site or the like.
Not the nicest of stories there though, but as its a traveller it somehow doesn't mean as much :?
-
Oi! I know the Ickleford farmer- it's my mate's dad!!!!
A lovely fellow is he too! :D
Elliot, I didn't know you lived in Hitchin! What did/do you think of it?
-
Ho Ho - its always great to rile the hard pressed rural community - Its funny that the only people with proper Hertfordshire accents are farmers - everyone else has generic Thames Estuary or posh RP.
Sam - I got out back to London as soon as I could (which happened to by about 15 years!) - Its a pretty town, nice girls on the school on the hill and lots of beer down the Red Lion or the Albert, but apart from that too small for my liking. Oh I once played a stonking gig at the Angel's Reply with a hardcore band I was in.
What's the best drinking wholes these days?
-
A lot of people (of the young generation) tend to drink in the Red Heart or the George these days, probably because they're in the town centre. Is the Red Lion the place just outside the main town? Even the hill itself is a drinking hole now, (it's quite an amazing sight seeing 100s of people just wandering around a grassy hill every friday night).
And a gig in the Angel's Reply!?! That's some boring family pub/restaurant now :(
And; a hardcore band?! But I thought you were a strat + fender man?! :o
Yeah it's quite a sleepy little market town most of the time, so I can see why someone used to the city might not like it here so much. I'm hoping to move away to London later in life as well, but Hitchin is a nice place to grow up.
-
My memory failed me - I meant the Red Heart - the one in Bucklersbury.
As to strats and hardcore - East Bay Ray of the Dead Kennedy's played a strat - and we were like imitating the DKs all the way (loads of delay and distortion - god, we were shitee - I still am....)
-
Yeh the Red Heart is the place to be these days. Hitchin is pretty cr@ppy when you look at it but i can't imagine not being here so it can't be that bad haha.

When I was a student in Loughborough a young lad was tourtured and killed around the corner from my house (less than 100m away). They found most of the body in the disused facory over the road from my gaff and his head in the park next to my house. There was the odd arm in a river. Poor little bugger.
