hi everyone on this site.
my friend recently got a set of BKP's installed in his strat and i am blown away. the lace sensors in my guitar can say hello to ebay.
i play a fender 70's style stratocaster (classic series). it has a maple neck, 3 single coil positions, and a black alder body. i replaced the stock pickups with lace sensors, but am not happy. i was thinking about installing a set of BK irish tours. ive heard great things about them, and it sounds like they suit my style the most. i like to play a lot of stuff like floyd, really expressive stuff, but i also like to crank up the gain now and again.
does anyone have any valuable insight on these pickups? e.g. what difference the zinc plated steel base makes, which pickup position (if any) i should get it installed..
many thanks to everyone who can help me. i would appreciate it greatly (i know ive been a bit specific, sorry!)

Welcome!
I think that the Irish Tours will handle the middle ground you are describing very well.
If you're looking to really do a David Gilmour thing, then I would suggest you email Tim.

Hi, good to have another Strat player on board. I can't comment on the ITs I regret to say as I have not tried them but the base plate would go on the bridge pickup.

Word. ITs work really well for the clean & gainy detail in the singles.

Irish Tours are awsome, are you only getting the 1? The set works really well if you can do it.

it will definitely be the set i would imagine.

Wasn't Tim working on a Gilmour wind? Is that Chinese Whispers? I really would recommend emailing Tim with a list of your equipment and where you want to go in terms of artists and albums that you like - Tim is like a wizard when it comes to these things.

hey, thanks for the help and suggestions. upon your advice i contacted tim, and he recommended either the IT's or Apaches. Think i might go for the IT's, but i'll look for some sound clips first i think.
Once again, thanks everyone for posting.
