Hi,just been told about bkp's.could anyone tell me how they stack up against say the zakk wylde 81's/85's???? lookin to put some new pickups in a dean hardtail and it's either some more zakk's or i'm thinkin about bkp's..any help deciding this matter would be truly sweet..

miracle man set, obviously :good:
the bridge pickup has that focused in-your-face tone and extreme clarity for shredding
it's voiced after the emg 81, but it has its own sound
i had the zakk wylde set before and the miracle man sounds a bit bassier than the emg 81 and has a raw and organic low midrange grind
it roars like a harley davidson
you won't be disappointed
the neck pickup is powerful and FAT, but doesn't remember the emg 85, in my opinion
it's smoother and darker than the 85
i think the painkiller neck would be a good option for a strong and fat neck tone without losing the picking attack

so you guys give it the thumbs up? cool well soon as the new hard tail arrive's i'm tear out those in and shell out on some bkp's cheers ladds
happy shreddin'! El Tonio..

i changed from emgs to a miracle man in the bridge and i will recommend the miracle man to death, it is easily THE best pickup ive ever owned.
-
good to know - im getting a jackson rr24 and have been considering whether to replace the emg-81 with a miracle man or a painkiller, probably a MM. that being said, i've never actually played with an emg before so we shall see ^^

I used to have EMG's in all 3 of my guitars *2 Epi Les Pauls and a cheapo Ibanez*, then i got my first set of BKP's (coincidentally, it was a miracle man set), and since then i've replaced almost all EMG sets.
*with the exception being my last bought Les Paul, as i am still debating wether to buy a Diezel Einstein first, or just go for another set of BKP's and buy the amp later*
The reason i switched out my EMG's ?
They lacked a real tone of their own, they sounded very cold and clinical, and they only seem to excel at metal, softer rock, punk and blues don't sound too good when played on them.

Well i would, but i already have a Mark IV, a Blues Jr., a DSL 401 and a H&K statesman Dual 20...
How the hell am i gonna justify this one with the missus ?
She plays too, and there's no way i'm getting that amp without some major grief added with it, free of charge....
:?

I thought that if the wife played too it would be easier to buy equipament (besides if is lacking food and alike things in home)....
PDT_022
And why the grief??
-
Hmmm, missus wasn't exactly the right choice of words here, as we're not actually married, but close enough i guess.
Anyway, she has 3 amps, i have 4, she has 3 guitars and a bass, i have 3 guitars, a bass, a banjo and a mandolin, and we live in a tiny 3 room apartment...
And i have far too many videogame consoles around as well, so as you might imagine, space is very limited...
(Imagine a mad kind of tetris game of wood crates, amps and guitar cases)
So, also considering the fact she told me she'd kill me if i bought another amp...
Well, there will be grief, oh yes...
