So we have just had a week of practice with my band The Safety Fire (www.myspace.com/thesafetyfire) with our now complete rig (I say complete, until the next time I get gas).
We have two Engl Powerballs, two Pod Xt Pros, one Z11 midi swticher, and Digi 003 and a laptop controlling everything. We have backing vox and synths coming through the PA system from a laptop also controls all our presets so we can just concentrate on rocking.
So no for the pics:

That looks like a seriously nice setup.
mmm and look at all those MXR EQ's. I want another one :D
-
Damn it....
Gas..... ><
-
That Powerball looks monsterous next to the Blackmachine. Hot damn! How much would you reckon you guys blew on that nifty little setup?
-
Just realised - Serious lack of Cab pics :>
Take some next time you lot are jamming and it'll be complete :D

I don't really want to think about it. I worked solidly for a year....I have no money from that, then I have been using a large percentage of my student loan on gear....I don't really eat. Good times. We got some good deals on a lot of the stuff, but Im guessing between all of us......maybe something like £6-8,000 maybe more.....haha. WHY DID YOU MAKE ME THINK HOW MUCH I SPENT!! :P

Is that the gear you used on your EP?

I would have to agree   Money is no object when it comes to tone!

Yep, setup in a different way, but all the gear used for recording, is used for the live stuff as well!
-
I'm surprised that you find a need for the Pod's, what with having two Powerballs. Obviously the Pod's are handy when recording, but what do you use them for live ? or is it just for effects in the loops of the powerballs ?

Effects and EQ which has really helped with the Powerballs tone.
-
Rig of Doom contest eh? How about this. 2 Engl Blackmore heads running stereo into 2 Engl Pro 4x12 cabs. TC G System with Keeley SD-1, MXR Phase 90, and Boss Graphic.

STOP IT YOU LOT.
I CAN'T HANDLE THE GAS!
-
Nice setup :) Curious though, what made you go with the Digi 003, as opposed to something a little less expensive?
-
Dez, FFS mate you know you are posting all that porn on a public forum here? Have some decency man!
Oh god now I've made a mess...
-
Oli: I run Pro Tools for all the bands I record, so I thought I would be able to use it for both of the things I need. I got it 2nd hand, so it wasn't too bad on the wallet.
Nad: haha, sorry man. Ill keep it clean I swear! Gorilla amps for all.

My cousin owns a whole studio of digidesign hardware - Cost him a bloody mint.
And all because of how much he loves pro tools.
-
Did you do all the production and recording on the new EP then, Dez?
-
I did indeed yes! I record other bands stuff as well.
-
Indeed?......Indeed......
PM in your inbox mate. :D
-
Tissue, please?
