Put on your bell-bottoms, fedora, and kimono for this bit of retro-rock/proto metal. Fans of VERY old Priest, Uriah Heep, old Rush, etc will understand this song a bit more than modern rock/metal guys. Sorry, no vox yet.

HIGER GAIN guitars are bridge Riff Raff in an Agile AL-2800.
LOWER GAIN and EBOW guitars are neck Stormy Monday wired in parallel, same guitar.

this is *exactly* my taste in metal tone... damn!
edit: listened a couple of times now - its a real man's tone, no doubt about it. riff raff FTW! wish my riff raff loaded V wasn't locked up in a storage locker.

Oh yes! I understand...
I've been fretting about what to put in a new Explorer (see http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12040).
Now I know I have to swap the Riff Raffs out of my SG to give them a try... and if it works, the SG might well get Stormy Mondays instead (which was its other option originally).
Very nice clip.

That was very Sabbath, loved it, great clip!!
Are you gonna add some vocals?
-
Hey, liked that a lot!

Thanks, hunter!
Yes, vocals are going to be added (lyrics are already written) and the arrangement still needs to be tweaked. This was the raw skeleton demo I threw together for the singer.

very Uriah Heep - now you just need three keyboard players on stage.

Hehe, thanks for noticing.

I like the tone and the song!

It's quite progressive sounding. I like the arrangement, the glock works nicely, and the phasy guitars in the slow bits. That's a good mix too!

I love this even more now that its taking shape more. cant wait to hear it with the lyrics you showed me.
I shall look forward to the next mix.

Liking it Ben.
It's practically a 180 degree flip from alot of your stuff I've heard in the past. That's meant as a good thing btw :)
I'd heard the mix you sent me in the PM before I saw this thread, and really liked the Eastern feel and approach you went for on this. It's a very different Tone and Feel than I've heard from you before, which I like :)
The EBow guitars at around 3:30 fit it well, as do the phasey/flangey bits in the breakdown. Also more keys/synths/programming than I've heard on any of your stuff before, which took me by surprise.
Hope I like the Riff Raff I've bought for my V as mucha s I like the sound of that 1 ;)

Excellent - enjoyed that !

Thanks very much, guys.
After talking to the singer, I've begun the mk2 version of the song which will add another riff and have the basic blocking for the solos. Expect the next version to be even more 70s steeped!
Stay tuned!

Slight update to the mix, now with 100% more Mellotron!

Just had a listen to both. Wow!! :D This track is very tight on those riffs. It does sound very retro, I love it!
Nice one Ben. 8)
Killer tones and playing! The bass sounds good on those ascending parts
That sustained note on the end, I thought the band was going to segue into Foxy Lady, to my ears anyway, in a good way! 8)
