Well, the first song I've put on here. The solos suck, so any advice/tips would be great.
Solo 1 = Friend playing my strat with the apaches (can't remember what he was using i.e. bridge, neck, etc., and he's playing through a Dual Rectifier.
Solo 2 = Me with the same strat through a Lonestar. I think this solo is pretty lame, aside from the bad phrasing, I think it doesn't mix with the song too well, but tell me what you cats think.
Solo 3 = Friend again, with his same setup.
We also plan on adding vocals as soon as we come up with lyrics.

Hi there
The clip is in WMA format, which I don't think can be accessed?
Try and convert it to MP3 and repost.

Okay, it's posted up now. Thanks.

The solos don't suck at all. They're pretty good actually :D
Advice? I'm a novice at recording but I think that a touch of compression and reverb on the solos would enhance them and maybe pull back the level of the rhythm a shade.

Hi Credico, Welcome to the forum dude! :D
Great tune, you and your mate can play really nice. You could get the chicks dancing with this one, then your in!!
I think what's happened here in terms of recording is that you've gone over 0dbs and the whole tracks clipping, I could be wrong though.
As Machinehead pointed out compression will control the overall gain or db level of the track and stop it sounding distorted.
What did you use to record it?

Thanks for the wonderful comments 8) .
We used my friends studio...quite literally a studio. We each recorded our parts separately so we could even out all the levels and such.
I don't know much about recording at all, so I can't really tell you much. But I'll pass along some comments to my friend and see what we can do to make it better next time we record it.

Take it as constructive criticism from me. I liked it really.
If you want to hear some really sucky playing and recording have a search for some of my clips

I'm sure you have me beat in terms of playing, at least in this recording  .
