Title: 7 string Nailbomb - alt picking madness..
Post by: temps on March 29, 2008, 09:29:31 PM
Just quickly wrote and recorded this tune, mostly to tighten up my alt picking. But it sounded pretty cool when all was said and done so I'm going to share it around...

Its a 7 string nailbomb in an Ibanez S7320 endorser custom, into a Mesa Stiletto, then an Orange 4x12, then mic'd and mastered. Drums are drumkit from hell superior.

Those are some really good riffs. Now you just need some Loomis style lead over it!

My buddy came up with the title :) can't take credit for that one. Its inspired by a Chinese guy he has worked with for some time now that he has never, ever talked to

I'm thinking about adding a solo section to it, but it'd be more Marty Friedman-style because I can't shred quiet hard enough at this tempo for it to be a Loomis lead..

B standard. But it has been awhile since I tuned the guitar to A440, so I could be out by a quarter step ahaha :D Have at it man. Was playing in the key of B minor for the whole tune.

I like it!
cool riffage
I've got a nailbomb in the bridge of my Carvin DC727 .
Great pickup for a 7 string :D

I don't know how you guys take the time to program drums?????
yuck,
I've got to learn how to do it

kmanick from ss.org? this is sakeido :)
Programming drums is one of my least favorite things to do. I just pay a hell of attention to what my buddy can play or does play when we jam, so I can program more realistic parts. This song though, I just took the easy way out and made them follow the guitar.

very brutal, the drums sounds too forward in the mix though, needs much less high mids on it, and think the bass is in need of some THD.

Thats a great technique you've got there...sounds like your actually retriggering samples to me which is weird!

Personally on my phones the mix sounded pretty decent although they are a little bass heavy.

The guitar has a snappy sound on its own, and the Nailbomb and Stiletto really bring it out.. it is that defined in real life too :) The technique is all thanks to practicing lots of Lamb of God songs ahaha
