Title: Help me pick a Wah
Post by: Dazza1004 on April 03, 2008, 02:27:25 PM
I’m looking for a bit of help finding the right wah.

I am using a Morley Bad Horsie II with my live rig and it’s pretty suited to the stuff I play and the levels of gain involved. I really like the switch-less operation and it’s not a tone sucker when off.

I am looking for something a bit more, I guess traditional. I have been listening to Joe Satriani and Slash recently so that’s the ball park I am shooting for, although I am not saying I want to sound just like them.

I had a cry-baby a couple of years ago and it was the biggest tone sucking son of a bi**h ever hence I am pretty rigid on the new pedal having to be true bypass.

So far I have on my short list

Budda
Keeley cry-baby or vox
Fulltone clyde dxl
Tesse RMC3 (seems a bit deep, I am a plug and play kind of guy)

I am probably not going to be able to try all of them before I have to make a decision so any steer is welcome.

Cheers

Out of those, the RMC3! The stock settings are fine as it is!

Hunter, was it you who uploaded the RMC3 clip for me when I was wah-deciding?

Teese RMC Picture Wah and Wizard Wah are worth checking out.  They're both plug in and play types and sound pretty frikkin sweet!

Teese Picture wah!  I had a Teese WOF as well, great for more of a Page or Clapton wah sound.  The picture wah would be a more Hendrixy type of wah.

Don't worry about that. It's really plug & play. You don't have any outside-knobs but, inside, you can change various settings.I would say it's just a big bonus as you can dial any Teese-wah (mostly) or others ;but, more importantly, you can adapt the wah to your own amp and guitar, soundwise.

The new BBE wah looks good
Hardware bypass / original spec halo inductor , LED for status, tunable Q

Supposed to be based on the original unit and at £59 it looks to be good value as well
