FInished this baby a few weeks ago but haven't posted pix yet as have been busy with some of the other custom jobs begging to be finished.
So here she is :

It's a nice axe!!
If I had a PRS style guitar it would have something similar to this finish:

yeah - that tops great!!

Yeah - that PRS looks great Woogie
Can you see how they have double stained the grain with black and sanded it out prior to doing the red coat- just makes it look more dramatic , although it does lose a bit of the 3D effect of the flamed maple in real life.
We opted to not double stain the top which makes the effect of the flame a bit more subtle- was what the player wanted
Turned out really nice - a bit like JT's Preacher in colour - kind of an ICE TEA vibe to it.
There were a couple of minor cosmetic flaws /features in the wood but that was part of it's charm- it's real wood not photoshopped perfection.
It sounded fantastic as well - was a shame I couldn't really make the most of it myself as it was left handed.(IE I couldn't play lots of stuff on it like I would if it was right handed)
Look forward to hearing what she sounds like in a years time when she has really settled down- yummy!

Nice work :drink:

Isn't it AbraxAs and not AbraxIs? Or is -is the plural?
Anyway, that's a lovely guitar. I'm sure it sounds beautiful too.
-
Looks very nice Jonathan. How do the Abraxas's sound in it? I love them in the Hamer Sunburst that I have.
-
Very nice build! 8)
Very classy!
But didn't understand about divided the build because it's left-hand :?:

I think I meant that it was a shame that I couldn't play lots f riffs and stuff on it because as it's left handed I have to play everything upside down.
It was set up beautifully though and the new owner loves it
Sound wise the Abraxas (is the plural Abraxii?) pickups sounded fab
Nicely compressed under high gain for a Santana like tone and sweet under clean conditions

Duh (http://216.211.140.132/Smileys/Lots_O_Smileys/doh3.gif)
Now I understand... I thought it was the building (like doing the neck, etc)... :?
:D
