Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone has fitted a Les Paul with and Earvana or Buzz Felching type nut? If so is it worth while? My G string gives me constant gip and some chords don't ring as true as I would like. The intonation is fine.
Cheers,
O

Feline Guitars have fitted loads of Earvana nuts to all sorts of guitars - if you use the forum Search page for "Earvana" there should be plenty of info.

I have an Earvana on my Les Paul and have no tuning issues. Unfortunately I can't offer a before/ after comparison as it was already fitted when I bought it. My only gripe is the sharp edges - when you're playing live in an adrenaline/ sweat fuelled situation and you slide down the neck, it's a bit painful when you catch your hand on it.

+1 i've had to round the edges of the nut with a needle file.

Feline fitted an Earvana to my Desert Burst. I guess it works (no tuning/intonation problems) but I can't say I noticed any real difference & probably wouldn't get another one...

It is worth it! Not only did it make the intonation better, it also improved tuning stability a whole lot. And I even did a rather shoddy first timer job. Imagine what a pro can do.

Cheers guys. I think I will go for one as I recently adjusted the intonation and some open chords still sound nasty. It also seems to depend on how I tune the guitar - using 5th/7th fret harmonics or the 5th fret ocatves. Harmonics seems the best overall way of doing it.
