The Kustom HV65. My first amp with any kind of tube in it at all. Now when I turn it on, it makes this awful buzzing sound no matter what channel I have it on. Changing things like gain and middle only quiet the buzz, but it's still there, and my tone just ends up sucking. What am I doing wrong?

Do you have it near anything like a TV, CD player or PC/laptop? Any of these can cause interference.

It sounds like a "ground connection" problem. If your sound is ok when you play, you must check your ground connection. If it's not, your tubes could be dead...Good luck,anyway..

Pretty much whats been said above, it sounds like either it's picking up electrical interference, or it has a fault. Try moving it around the room / house.
One of my amps has a low hum when it's on, audiable in a quite room, not so much if the TV is on. I always thought it was interference, but I guess it could be a ground fault as well, thinking about it :)

I took it back to where I bought it. They tried it out in several different ways and determined that it was, in fact, broken. The effects knob also made a horribly scratching sound when turned. They sent it back and I should have another one in a day or two. Thanks for the responses, though.

Shame, but definitely a relief! Fingers crossed the replacement is error-free!

maybe try changing leads to george L, this will help a lot, and then fix the ground problem by using only 1 wall socket, plug all your plugs into one of those multi plug sockets aka belkin 8 way plug adaptors (plugged into the one wall socket), then when you need to add more plugs use the first belkin 8 way adaptor to chain it to the next one, hense destroying all ground loops, as it only comes from one place.
