Title: Fame at last (Cold Sweat)
Post by: psy on April 15, 2008, 08:53:19 AM
ITV's just put a video up of the last battle of the bands my band (World Is Static) was  in up on thier site

http://www.itvlocal.com/tynetees/whatson/?void=176896

We're the second off last band on it...  about 16 mins in to it.  The audio is out of sync with the video, but it's cool anyway  :)

Yeah, they're certainly not my cup of tea.  The video is a good ten seconds out of sync with the audio...  so I've managed to cut my band out & line the sound up a little better.

Oh, and it's a Cold Sweat in the bridge of the Mockingbird (& a Seymour Duncan JB in the LP)

Sounds good, but the thing that stood out to me the most was that difference between you and the girls tone! :o

You obviously like your mids a hell of a lot more than she does :P

At first The singer's guitar sounded incredibly powerful but got really lost in the mix later on. I thought your guitar sound wasn't great to start off with but when the band came in it really worked whereas the singer's guitar was nowhere to be heard.

That really highlights the need for mids in guitar sounds and also serves to show off the pickups in a good light.

Yeah, I agree.  I probably could have done with a little more top end sparkle on mine.  :)  I do like my mids like.  It was one of those gigs where there's no sound check or line check.  We just plugged our amps in tot he cabs that were on the stage & played.

I just got back from a gig to house.  The sound guy was the nicest I've ever met.  Normally sound guys are a pain in the arse.  The sound was mint tonight, proper soundcheck.   :D

I expected this to be really metally, and to dislike it, I think thats because of the BC Rich, I was very pleasantly suprised!
Its good stuff! I agree about it sounding like your guitar wasn't right at the beginning, then when it got into the song, yours fitted better than the LP
