it got an 'oh wow' from me, the cello(??) in the background looked pretty interesting as well

I am actually quite impressed as it finally shows something the WiiMote can do over the Dreamcast's fishing rod (which would have been excellent for shooters because of the extra length being just right for a rifle game like Silent Scope but was limited to Soul Calibur and, ironically enough, Sega Bass Fishing).
This would be a good technology for arcade machines, where one could have a screen for each player economically, if they could only find a way of stopping people pinching the glasses and getting over the problem of wearing actual prescription glasses with them.

you could use the fishing remote with soul calibur?
im gonna have to try that now :P

Yes you can!
The reel is the equivalent of the kick button.
Doing it this way makes it very difficult to do combos I would imagine but multiplayer probably gets a few laughs. Other controls are either activated by swinging it like a sword or how you would do it on the normal pad.

well i was just gonna dust off my DC and give it a spin but... then i remembered i lent it to my little sister,.

That guy is an absolute genius :o

That's damn cool.

I've been waiting for something like this to come along, awesome!
Maybe they could attach the Infared lights to the sides of gaming headsets (you know, the ones with the mic's) that would bring the technology to a the market quite easily, i'd think, wouldn't cost much either! though a receiver would be where the cost lies, obviously.
I can see it now, leaning around corners in Call of Duty 4 :D

All you'd need to do is attatch an Infra Red LED to either side of the headset and connect them to a battery :)
