So, first of all, the BM is very light. Super sleek looking, the hand painted stuff looks awesome and it's #33 made. The red LED actually made me jump I wasn't expecting it to be so bright .
I used my Jackson COW7 into the BM and into the Hi Input of the Laney VC50 with Classic Lead 80's. First thoughts, wow, my tone is now much clearer, more dynamic and more 'in your face' sounding than the SD-1. The BM doesn't take out much bass, if any. It doesn't have that annoying midrange hump that the SD-1 has and it doesn't add a slight 'fuzz' like the SD-1. Overall it makes everything 'roar' and the Classic Lead 80's are sounding a touch more pleasant to my ears now. Though I may change them to Swamp Thangs.
The build quality (wiring) etc is top quality. The soldering joints are perfect, I wish I could solder than clean. Everything is tidy and easy to get to. It so cool looking I almost don't even want to touch it incase I ruin it.
So in all, if you've got the cash and thinking of getting a new pedal, get the Bloody Murder.

No clips I'm afraid. I don't have a microphone about. I don't think the Toneport would work right if I just used a mic in front of my combo. I'll try and get something tomorrow at rehearsal.
-
to be honest, anything crude through the rubbishest of mics would be very helpful, if you were able - just to get an idea of what sort of thing this is! ie is it a thrashy kind of pedal, or something more meaty/crunchy/fizzy/fuzzy?
I'm sure you could equally well convey that with text, too :)

Awesome!
Hope your liking the VC50 :D

It's very much like a tubescreamer but more crunchy and more dynamic (more 3D sounding). The gain doesn't get fuzzy either and takes no bass out of your sound so it has alot of balls too.
-
I was just going to say it doesn't sound like it would suit the blues that well, but if it's like a tubescreamer. It's got my attention now

Got to try out the BM with the new Laney VC50 I got in a trade the other day. My tone is now awesome. Thinking of changing the speakers to some with a little less presence. Maybe Swamp Thangs, but I'm starting to like it more and more. Getting a very tight and articulate tone with my 7 string and can really be heard in the mix now.

Here's a little clip of the Bloody Murder

Just something very quick so you can hear what it sounds like.
-
That's a really nice agrresive tone
-
You seriously NEED a G12K-100 to go with that :)

That's actually just my 7 string, into the Bloody Murder and then into the Toneport GX which then goes into the Cakewalk program I have. I didn't mic my amp at all. But I will be putting that Celestion in there though.
-
I have one too, #5 made :P It's the best Tube Screamer clone I've ever heard, honnest! It's even better than a TS9 : bass cut is right were it should so it gets your amp to sound really tight, no mid hump, huge clean boost available, very effective tone control, gain goes from totaly clean to good rock OD.
It's been optimized to be used in a Metal environement (ie: to tighten the tone) but is not limited in any way.
Best bang for the buck, better sounding than a Maxon OD808 at fraction of the cost and true bypass :D
Just buy one NOW people! (I know I sound like an ad, I don't care  )

the bloody murder IS a tubescreamer, well its a tubescreamer clone with all of Joe Bodenhammers favourite mods installed, and with a few component value changes to his preference.
Stevepage, youre rocking a BM and a 7 string, i dont suppose youre on sevenstring.org are you?

Yeah that's right mate, my user name there is Maliciousteve

Maybe I missed this, but where can I get one of these? Google searches are finding me nothing on how to buy it, and I'm quite interested in one.

Here you are mate

there is a bit of a wait time now because Joe is getting quite a few orders. But trust me it's worth the wait.

Many thanks! Looks like I'll be ordering one of these when I get the money. :D
As an aside, have you heard anything about his Dunlop Crybaby mod? I ordered one of those last week, should be getting it tommorow actually, and considering it's so affordable, I'm interested to hear feedback on that as well.
But regardless, that Bloody Murder pedal sounds unbelieveable, and it's shockingly cheap as well. Thanks for the soundclips too, those have definitely helped seal the deal.

I've not heard about his Crybaby mods, but pretty much everything Joe touches is gold  I'm sure it'll be awesome.
