Title: New amp: Marshall JCM-2000 TSL 601
Post by: Scotty477 on April 22, 2008, 08:21:01 PM
It's new amp time for me. I took a chance and won a Marshall TSL 601 on evilbay with a flightcase for a decent price.

I tried one out up here in Glasgow last week and was rather impressed by the power it generated and awesome lead tone.

All I need now is a THD Hotplate for using it in the house ....

Good job!

I've actually never played one - clips would be fun.

I'll do my best with the clips.

Hopefully both miked and DI.

Nice purchase! :)

My band-mate has one. I absolutely HATED it at first. But after he left it at my house for a prolonged length of time, and I got the chance to hear it semi-cranked, it definitely won me over!

not bad amps when they're cranked up :)

Congrats MH, now is your chance to prove to the world that TSL's do not deserve their less than impressive reputation. That reputation has kept me from ever even trying one out, so I have no personal opinions on the matter.
Hopefully you can impress us with some great clips in the near future !!

I'll certainly try my best. I'm in the process of acquiring a few stomp boxes (delay, reverb) for it at the moment and then I'll see what happens.

If it's not to my liking I'll flip it back to ebay but I have to say I'm looking forward to hearing it as the one I tried last week was very impressive indeed.

Has anyone else got one of these?
