I noticed, that when I use my Weber MiniMass for heavy attentuation, I get those harmonic overtones or whatever they are called on single notes. At first I thought it was the pickups being too high or something but it does it with my other guitar aswell, and when I switch off the attentuator I dont hear any overtones (its just too bloody loud  ). Just wondering if any Hotplate/other attentuator users have this problem? It's quite annoying.
Cheers

I just realised I put this in the wrong forum! Can it be moved or something? Cheers

I've never had that with my hotplate. The only thing I find at extreme attenuation is a bit of treble drop off, but I think we've had that conversation! :?

the mass apparantly darkens the sound a bit...
i invested in the bigger standard mass, which has treble boots + an eq on the unit it self, to tweak the tone

Even with the high and low compensation off, the Hot Plate is very neutral sounding; with them on, the amp sounds the same as it would with no attenuation, or at least as close as it can get with my hearing and lease still intact!!
Check out the video clip I posted of playing my Laney Pro-Tube, which has the Hot Plate on it as well -- there's no muddiness at all!

hmm ok I guess I'll have to stay on the lookout for a Hotplate then :)

I've got two MASS units, and the Hotplate. The MASS units are best for a little attenuation, the Hotplates best for lots of attenuation.

Yeah I thought that the Mini Mass sounded good when the volume was about on 5, but thats still too loud for home use
