So, the Framus is gone, sold to a studio owner in Doncaster. However, the replacement is even more awesome than the Cobra was. Picked up this beast yesterday evening:

And what a beast it is! I've barely had a chance to play it, but when I went to collect my Blackmachine I got to try a VH4 out for a couple of hours, and was absolutely floored by the incredible tone. The combination of my guitar and this amp works amazingly, and I can't wait to crank it up in a bit when certain people have woken up..
Even Jordan considered it worthy as a throne:

Nice one man!
If i didn't get my Egnater, i'd be all over a Diezel!

I am so jelous it's unreal.
Great head mate.

Awesome high gain head. Congrats.
I can hardly believe you have it on top of a 4x12. It's absolutely huge !! Is it as heavy as it is huge ?
-

-
Absolutely $%ing brutal.
SOOOOOOOO Jealous its insane.

EDIT: what's more, your cat totally ROCKS IT!

^ +1, the cat steals the show
Awesome rig man, the black 'Orange' 4x12 totally rules too - and then there's the Black Machine. Bet it all sounds SWEET.
What BKPs you got in there?

According to the thread he made :D

Cheers guys! Pretty sure I've found "my" amp! The sound is incredible, and the really useful features are just the icing on the cake (effects loop for each channel, ability to take pretty much any type of powertube etc..)
Awesome high gain head. Congrats.

Yeah it really is a big 'un! It's not ridiculously heavy or anything, but it is seriously well-built (trust the Germans :) )

I know samoth2 said it, but yeah, they're Painkillers. Amazing pickups.. really, awesomely good in every way!
EDIT: Since Jordan's appearance went down well, here he is again, this time checking out the back of the amp:

Don't care much for big expensive amps, but I do like your cat.

I do care much for big expensive amps, and I love your cat :)

Haha, Jordan is awesome. I know he looks menacing and almost evil in these pics, but he really is the most chilled out, affectionate cat you'll ever meet.
-
Did you have the Columbus footswitch with it?
-
I do envy the versatility.
I do not envy the weight you have to carry around
I dug my Einstein, but sold it then as I looked for something more forgiving/vintage. Guess for heavy or shred, any Diezel is a perfect match.
I tested two VH4s, one of them was real bad, the other one was great sounding, guess you have to make sure there is a properly matched set of tubes and correctly biased in there.

I've had the same experience, Hunter.
I tried one at LGS last year with a Vigier and it was god-awful! Then the one I tried last Friday was just tonal Nirvana. Only difference was that I played into a Soldano 4x12 this time round.

Cheers dude, I guess I've got one of the good sounding ones ;).
But seriously, that surprises me - Diezel is known for being incredibly strict on quality control. The amps ship with high-quality tubes (Rubys), biased properly (not really cold, like most manufacturers).
Maybe the two amps you tried had different powertubes in them. The VH4 can take pretty much any type, and used to ship with 6L6s till not too long ago, when they changed to EL34s..
The weight of the head isn't too much of an issue at the moment. It's going in a live-in amp and rack flightcase pretty soon anyway. That will weigh a fair bit, but should make setting up and absolute doddle.
The cab, on the other hand, is an absolute b*tch to move around. About 10kgs heavier than your average 4x12, no casters, and too wide to get a good reach around on your own.

Guitar shows are hardly great places to get an impression of an amp though mate. Unless you tried it in that soundproof booth Diezel have had at shows recently of course.

I PM'd you back, but I'll repeat it here anyway. I'm going to be using a TC Electronics G-system to do my MIDI switching, as well as for effects and whatever.

Woah man, looks sweet. Bet it sounds killer too.
Your cat looks pretty ev1l too

Yeah sorry I forgot I mentioned on here
I tried the really good Diezel in a soundproof booth as well.
