This clip was played by Steve Stevens using his famous Charvel San Dimas guitar loaded with a VHII in the bridge straight into a 1970 100w Marshall Super Lead-no eq or compression, just a touch of reverb!

I can't believe I'm the 37th to download this!
This is rock'n'rol. Everything Steve does is rock'n'roll.
-
Great demo of the VHII - shows them off really well!
-
how is he doing the technique he does at 20s -> 23s? (it sounds like a modulation effect over a natural harmonic, but he is using no fx... so??)
anyhow, its damn awesome!
-
Love the lick at 1:30 onwards.
-
Awesome :D makes me want a VH2 set again, i miss it!
-
00:40-01:00 is my favorite part.
Actually just the whole thing to be honest. :D
-

Wow - great stuff
Shows the core of the Van Halen sound with some nice Steve Stevens touches and a hint or rebel yell at the end
Would love to watch a video clip of him doing that.
Go Steve!!

still to date my favourite pickup i've tried from the BKP range and I've tried most of them.
I'm gonna go back to using them in the new few months in my Gibson once i've got some cash.

That is the shizzle every body go buy his new album replete with RY and VHIIs that album rocks
-
When did Steve start using VHIIs?
Sounds awesome!
-
VH2 sounds AWESOME!
but really like the sound of that '70 Super Lead
awesome tone!
-
HOLY $#!7! :o Umm, wow. I really wasn't expecting that level of awesomeness. It's hard to ignore the amazing playing and just focus on the tone, though!

I stumbled across this post and thought I would just send a little mp3 of the Bare Knuckle Abraxas in the bridge.
I made this quite a long time ago last year.
I was just messing around and thought it would be fun to try and get a eddie tone.Or what I thought his general sound is, not a particular album .
The clip is a room sound ,no close mic.
Beware, the mp3 has some sort of digital clipping in places.
I don't normally play this sort of style of music although i did in my teens .Made me chuckle when listened back to it.

Sounds like he's playing harmonics over the 5th/4th/3.2th fret area
Great sound!!

... I think that's just sold me on a VHII in the bridge of my Charvel...
-
now thats some tone right there!
-
It’s helpful for me.Thank you very much

Holy moly!

Go Steve!

How can I get that kind of sound? Is that Super Lead his using modded or stock? It sounds it has more gain than stock Super Lead, even it's not high gain. Very articulate and huge overdrive sound. Love it. I'd like to get that sound too. Just got VHII in my American Standard Stratocaster.
