I am thinking of getting The MQ P-90 for the neck and a VHII for the bridge. Do you guys think this is a valid combo.?
-
What guitar are they going in? What amp/s do you use, and to play what styles of music? :)
-
It is a Warrior Gen-x into either a Genz-Benz El Diablo 100 half stack or a Reeves custom 6 combo. I play Everything from classic metal to country/blues.

Nice stuff PDT_012
I'd personally go for something like Holy Diver if you want more 'Metal' tones.
As for the neck I don't really know, but can you specify what you play most please?
-
I play more metal and hard rock than anything, but i really like the sound of a p-90 in the neck. I do not use the middle position very much so i am not too worried what that would sound like if the pickups are
not well calibrated to each other

Hmm... I wonder what Tim will have to say but I'll stick to Holy Diver in the bridge, and considering you like the P-90 sound in the neck then I'd suggest a P90 PDT_003

Holydiver and MQ work, the MQ is an amazing neck pickup and the HD is great for modern rock. The inbetween position is so good, i could use it all day and not get bored.
there is a tonal difference between them, which i'm just getting used to myself, but they definately suit each other.

I wouldn't have thought HD to be the best choice for Mahogany (that is what its made out of right?)
I would have thought you would want something with a little more cut to it, its only just got enough with my mahogany / alder LP

It is all mahogany with a mahogany neck that has a purpleheart tonebar and an ebony fretboard. The inlays are made of Koa and pearl
