Title: For DAVE M - some Blues Junior speaker AB clips - Apache
Post by: Elliot on May 02, 2008, 05:19:57 PM: Ok guitar - Rosewood necked JV series 62 reissue - playing through a neck Apache. The Blues Junior is modded to BillM specs except the OT mod. Vol 10, Treble 11, Bass 7, Mid 10, Master 2, Ruby Reverb Tank 0.5. SM57 close mic'd into Zoom H4.

Speakers:

EDIT - I re-recorded the Texas Heat without the beam blocker as this took all the sparkle out of the speaker and made it sound very dull.

I would have done something heavier but the neighbours have a new baby so I can't play too loud.

Post by: Scotty477 on May 02, 2008, 05:31:17 PM: I like the G12 out of the 3 clips. The Jensen is ok as well but the G12 just has a nice crispness to it.

Post by: JJretroTONEGOD on May 02, 2008, 10:07:29 PM: prefer the Celestion a lot more, jensen is too bassy and the other is too midrangy. The G12 seems to have the best tonal balance.

Post by: Dave_M on May 03, 2008, 10:46:35 PM: Awesome! Thanks for that! I like the G12H because it sounds the most balanced with the extra bass compared to the texas heat. But texas heat is also good. Not sure which is best.
