Title: Yet Another New Guitar Day (Ibanez/Pics)
Post by: Jonny on May 13, 2008, 04:32:18 PM
It's an Ibanez this time!

No, it's not a J-Custom. Or a Prestige. But I can say it's an RG. And I bought my Indie during the Winter time, so why not one that's only out for the Spring time!

It's the RG08LTD, basswood body, rosewood fretboard, maple neck, 'Cherry Blossom' pickguard, red body binding, Edge III and V7/V8 humbuckers.

With that said ...

I like the scratchplate, never seen one like that before!  :D

Is the finish like Fender Montego Black, i.e. black with little gold flecks in it?  I have a Tele that colour.

Yeah, it's "Japan Black", but in real terms it's black with gold speckles in it. It looks great in the light.

Holy hell that's hot. Get some gold buckers like that and complete the glamboyant look.

Looks nice. It has much gold on it, which is not usually my thing, but it really does suit that guitar. Binding and scratchplate are cool too. How does it sound?

With the stocks, it sounds sufficient. I've emailed Tim a question about pickup covers.

Either way I'm thinking of putting BKPs in it. Probably MMs.

MMs? Sounds like a good choice for a guitar like that. Tim won't let you down on the advice, that's for sure.

He recommended MMS before, and I've just sent him a message asking if he could engrave the scratchplate design to continue along the pickups, and other touches too.

that is one of the nicest ibanezes i have seen yet, aside from the Via seven stringer, and of course, my own, that one is awsome!

The Floyd Rose feels, hmm.. best way I can describe it is sensitive. I haven't gone out of tune after bashing the thing with divebombs, etc.

The neck is your standard Ibanez, so thin as anything. However it's satin finished, not gloss (i.e. shiny) so it feels dry on the hand, but it still suits me.
