:D OK guys here goes !
I`ve already spoken to Tim about posting this very bad news about myself and he`s said its ok. I`m going to take everybody's response`s as well meaning and intentioned but let`s not turn this post into a discussion about death. So if you must respond keep it short.
I have some very bad news. And it`s not a joke. I`m dying. It turns out my cancer came back hid itself shut down my digestive system and is starving me to death. I`m currently bedridden unable to walk [ i have to use a commode! yuk !!!] we are talking a matter of weeks if i can keep up the fight. I`ve just come out of hospital after having another operation. That`s when they found the cancer. I`d just like to say that i had and learnt a lot being on the forum. I`ve enjoyed the banter and chat and have decided this is the best forum on the net by miles. Don`t abuse it, use it.

I think this is what the term "Ahhh Bollox" was invented for.
Dunno what to say dude, not known you for long but you are a true geezer. Thoughts with you and your family.
-
I'm sorry to hear that, mate. I sincerely hope you have someone around you to comfort you and be strong with you. I admire your boldness around the subject. So many people would go into denial, and not tell their loved ones, thinking it's better to leave them ignorant, and it never is. My respect.
-
I don't really know you but that is a real downer for you.
I hope that you can do you best to stay as positive as possible.
I believe the only thing i know you for on this forum is that you started the thread with the most replies on the entire forum.
It is really unfortunate about your situation and i hope the time that you do is as good as it can be for you and that it is as comfortable as possible.
-
Shocking news for anyone to have to be given. My heart goes out to you and your family.
I don't know what else to say...
-
Total respect to you JT and you're in my thoughts.
-
That's not bad, that's terrible.
My thoughts are with you and yours, bro.
-
I don't know what to say either, for anyone, know you or not, it's difficult when anyone says something like this.
Heart's out to you and your family.
-
Again, I dont really know what to say in these kind of situations, but it's really horrible to hear that. As they say on HC, mojo being sent to you!
-
Gulp. Thats a big'un ! Like most folks, I feel pretty much lost for words in these situations. But I admire your honesty, and heartily recommend you spend as much time as you possibly can with those people who truly love you, and whom you truly love.
I also heartily recommend making peace with God. It's at times like these when the eternal appears to become more relevant, even though it was there all along.
God bless yer, and hopefully we'll see you posting for a while longer.
Alan
-
Very saddened to hear that..... My thoughts go to you and your family ... Sad....
-
So sorry to hear it mate - I hope you enjoy your last days, totally admire your attitude.
My heart goes to you and your family.
-
You are a very brave man for sharing this with us.
Although most of us have never met, everyone here is a member of the BKP family. I wish you the strength and peace of mind you need.
My thoughts are with you JT, my BKP brother.
-
Just to say that I am truely sorry to hear that and wish you and yours have as much peace as possible in the coming times
Saying anything more would be imposing my own beliefs and that isn't appropiate.
Rob...
-
John - I am so sorry to hear the news.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and also with your close friends and family.
-
My thoughts are with you and your family.
-
Make sure you are listening to your favourite music and have your favourite people around you.
-
Stories like this always draw people together, and make us think about what we have.
All the best to you and yours, we're all thinking of you.
Mark.
-
I hope you can make the best use of the time you have and wish you & your family peace of mind in such a terrible situation.
I can only hint at how much I admire your openness and fortitude.
We will be here for you for as long as you need us.
David
-
Like everyone I am at a loss for words man. My heart goes out to you and your family. If it's appropriate to say, "keep fighting the good fight." Life is full of surprises.
-
Hi JT, I did have the pleasure of meeting you at LGS in 2005 and I am really sorry to hear your news. I hope you can keep comfortable and have as many friends and family around you as you need.
-
I'm shocked, i feel for you, your family and friends. From the time i've been on the forum you've been a great guy and very helpful and you sound like a proper good guy. Hope you can keep on fighting for as long as possible and enjoy the rest of your time with the people closest to you.
-
Damn, that's shocking news. My heart goes out to you and your close ones.
We will miss you man!
The written word can't tell the whole story but judging fro your post, you seem to take it pretty well. I admire your strength!
Dammit, I hate this kind of thing, I've lost too many young friends already.
-
Wow, that's a bad one. Cancer's a real b*st*rd, especially the aggressive type... :(
All the best to you & your friends and family. Do what you can with them when you can, that's all that you can ask for.
-
Echoing all of the above, I cannot imagine the situation you find yourself in, or how I would respond in that same situation. I have nothing but respect and admiration for your attitude.
It's rather a personal wake-up call to me, in a way, as I've recently got a new job in cancer research. This just hits home what a sudden and devastating illness cancer can be, and how important it is that we (as scientists) tackle this disease as fervently as we possibly can.
I'm only sorry that we're most likely too late for you and the thousands of people who are also in your position. With that said, the doctors don't *always* get the diagnosis of terminal cases correct, and for your sake, and the sake of your family, I sincerely hope you fall into this minority of cases.
My heart goes out to you and your family at this time.
Roo
-
I'm really sorry to hear that, my thoughts are with you and your family.
-
Really sorry to hear your news JT - I really can't begin to comprehend what you are going through. Thanks for sharing your story with us - this shows a great deal of strength that not many people have.
-
Don't know what to say mate except live the best you can and happiest you can with what time you have left. Go with a bang and don't let anything bring you down.
-
I am also at a loss to find words to adequately express my shock at hearing this news - and sadness for you and your family. I have just been watching a mate ( who is much younger than me ) go through chemo-therapy this last year - and whilst he has thankfully gone into remission, it brought it home hard what it is like to face these things so unexpectedly.
As has already been said, enjoy the love and loving of your family - and leave a memory of dignity and warmth. We all send our love too - and are glad that a good guy like you crossed our collective paths.
Rest assured that like other good men that have gone before, you will never be forgotten.
May peace find you.
Derek. x
-
I`m shocked, I really am. I don't know you but my thoughts are with you.
Life is cruel sometimes.
I wish you all the best my friend
-
I'm at a loss really to say anything, but I respect you for posting here, I'm glad you think enough of us to use your time posting here. My thoughts will be with you.
I am sorry you are faced with this and I can only wish you peace.
Rich.
-
all the best mate
-
I can only echo all that has been said already. It shows a man of great strength and character to post what you have. There is no way to imagine what you must be feeling at the moment. As others have said before, make sure you are with the people you love. All the best,
Elliot
-
Not a clue what to say.
So sorry mate.
-
JT, we have never met but over the time we have been on the forum, you have been a courteous and great member. I am truly sorry to learn of this. You have had a rough time over the last couple of years and I can only say that my thoughts are with you and here is hoping for some sort of miracle. Best wishes to you.
-
That's shocking, Jt. :(
Sincerely hope you make the most of your time.
-
Glad to see you are staying positive atleast! Great strength
Can't really think of words to say.
Better stick with 'only the good die young'
I hope you have everything you could want in your time left
-
Terrible news. But thank you for doing us the honour, if that makes any sense, of sharing it with us.
All the best to you, JT.
Phil
-
what can be said that hasn't already been said. words are not enough for this situation. i wish you and your family and close friends all the very best.
:(
-
Oh sh!t !!!!
Cannot thing about how say things...
But do not give it away, man! Kick the cancer's ass as hard as you can!!!!
This is the most important thing!
Strengh man, and God bless you!
-
like everyone else, my thoughts are with you and your family.
the best of luck to you JT
-
Sorry to hear this fella :(
Thanks for the help you gave me when I was first looking into custom guitars, it helped alot.
My thoughts will be joining the oh so many of those going out to you and your family.
-
Wow i admire you brave and old attitude man. The forum here is a really great place and everyone here really has a heart, and you can see for yourself they are all in the right place, with you mate!!!
And you can Include mine!!
-
I'm sorry to hear that man, my heart goes out to you and your family.
You are right about this forum, it is a great place I heartily agree.
I'm not sure what else to say I'm afraid.
-
wow, of all the good natured places for cancer to effect a community this would be the last i would think. I don't really know much about you; honestly, next to nothing. But i find myself oddly sad and disappointed, and am sincerely sorry to hear this. I hope you find what you are looking for before you leave.
EDIT: i was gonna post Leslie Nielsen's quote on death in the movie Naked Gun as a cheer up, but then my idea of a cheer up isn't everyone's, i didn't know if it was appropriate. Let me know, i would be happy to post it if it could give you a little lift. :)
-
JT - so sorry to hear this and just like to echo the thoughts and wishes of everyone else on the forum.
-
Thoughts, prayers and respect. You are in my thoughts.
-
I'm really sorry to hear about this JT. My thoughts are with you and yours right now.
-
like everyone else has said, thats rotten news - hope you get 100% out of your last days.
-
oh, c--k! :?
i'm at a loss for words. sorry to hear that.
-
John I'm so sad to hear this terrible news mate. You were a legend in here with your advice, humour and I always thought I would meet you one day at the LGS and a few beers afterwards in the pub. You posted some good clips with your Feline Preacher and it was you who made my mind up to go to Jonathon to get mine. You were a great player too from what I heard.
God bless fella.
-
It goes without saying that this is terrible news, so i wont mention that.
JT, i will always remember you because of 'Kong'
I really liked that MP3 and it really inspired me at the time and even now.
Thankyou for inspiring me.
-
Hey man, I think everyone has said it all really. I don't know you but my thoughts and best wishes go out to you and your family.
-
I've only just seen this thread ...
You dont know me JT but I truly feel for you and your family and you have my utmost respect for the way you have let us know.
-
'kin hell, man.
Nothing much else I can do or say. You and yours will be in my thoughts.
Your courage is beyond belief.
-
Being a newbie here I've never known of you but hearing terrible news like this always hits home. My dad got cancer last year and the prospect that it may comeback undetected is terrifying, especially as we've never really talked, and since then I've kept meaning to spend some real time with him but haven't managed due to being so busy.
So in that sense I hope that you're able to take the opportunity now to say or do anything you've ever wanted to, and that you're not in too much pain. My deepest sympathies mate.
-
I've only just read this dude & I'm sure that you sick of hearing this, but...I'm so sorry man. Nobody deserves this.
Best to you & your family
-
I sincerely hope the doctors are wrong or your body can fight it. You seem as decent as anybody can get and definitely don't deserve this. Thoughts and prayers to you and yours. Stay positive.
-
Thanks for sharing this with us (thanks for trusting us, I guess)...
Anything else I could say has been said already, and I nearly didn't respond because I don't think we've ever spoken direct on here... But I suddenly felt the need to add my name to the growing list of people, so you can see that here's another person who has noticed you and who has got something out of your posts.
Andrew

:D Hi guys ! :D Thought i`d do a quick post. I`m still here at my parents deteriorating slowly it`ll be a while yet i think. My hearing is declining ever so slowly due to my weight loss. I`m very skeletal looking at this time. :D I`m still able to pick up my guitar and play it though !I`ll keep posting for as long as i can so dont worry. Thanks for the replies i understand you run out of things to say even those of you that hav`nt responded i understand why. Thanks for the comments and i`ve taken them as well meaning. Well got to go now post more later.
:D 8)
-
Glad to hear that you are still able to play. Give the Preacher a work out, if your hearing is going, just turn up the amp a bit more - that should fix it :)
Seriously though, I hope that you can enjoy your time and I wish you all the best and hope that your doctors are wrong and you can recover.
-
Great to hear from you again JT! It's really good to hear you can still play. As Phil said, crank it up! 8)
-
I have complete respect and admiration for the way you are handling this situation jt, a very brave thing you're doing putting it out there like this.
You're in my thoughts dude.
-
Well, do to the OK i got i am gonna post some Leslie Nielsen quotes about death from the movie Naked Gun (the first one). I started cracking up again when i read these, it has been some time since i saw the movie. So here it goes:
Frank: A good cop - needlessly cut down by some cowardly hoodlums.
Ed: No way for a man to die.
Frank: No... you're right, Ed. A parachute not opening... that's a way to die. Getting caught in the gears of a combine... having your nuts bit off by a Laplander, that's the way I wanna go.
Wilma Nordberg: [cries] Oh... Frank. This is terrible.
Ed: Don't you worry Wilma. Your husband is going to be alright. Don't you worry about anything. Just think positive. Never let a doubt enter your mind.
Frank: He's right, Wilma. But I wouldn't wait until the last minute to fill out those organ donor cards.
[Wilma cries again]
Ed: What I'm trying to say is that Wilma, as soon as Nordburg is better, he's welcome back at Police Squad.
Frank: Unless he's a drooling vegetable. But I think that's only common sense...
[Wilma cries again]
Another classic one (!):
Frank: It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.
Jane: Goodyear?
Frank: No, the worst.
These quotes sure cheered me up, i hope they do the same for all of you, ESPECIALLY you JT.
-
Wow....i'm sorry to hear.. my mum passed away from breast cancer in December just before Christmas but i can't begin to imagine what it must be like for you - all i can say is keep fighting - miracles CAN and do happen.
My mum 3 years ago was told she had 2-3 weeks to live however she recovered and the cancer seemed to go away (however it came back as it always does)
All the best
-
:(
Best wishes to you and your family, JT.
Your Kong 2 clip was one of the first BK clips I heard, got me into the whole BKP thang, and the forum. I still listen to it now, in fact.
I can only hope something changes and you recover.
Bob.
-
Just came across this thread after being away from the forum for a while. :( I can only impotently echo the good words of those who've posted before me:
I've never met you, JT, but if you're still reading (or even if you're not), I want to say that your words on the forum -- and of course your work off of it -- have made such a difference to so many musicians. As terrible as it is for us to hear of your situation, we know it is immeasurably more terrible for you to be in it. But your courage and strength are an inspiration to us all, and each one of us can only hope to to stare the reaper in the eye with your fortitude when our days come. If there turns out to be an after-party, we'll hope to see you there.
-
:D I deided to let all of my fellow BK forum members know what was happening because at some point I would not be able to type. And then i`d suddenly disapear. I have to much respect for the forum & it`s members to just disapear. This forum is the only site i`ve come across. It`s played a part of my life. I appriciate all of the responses
Cheers JT
:D 8)
-
I've not been on for a while so I have only just caught this.
There is nothing that I can add to what people have already but JT, I admire your courage and upbeat attitude in light of the situtation. Positive Mental Attitude.
Andy.
-
My best wishes JT and to your family friends and love ones! Glad to hear you can still play guitar and hope you are doing what you love.
-
Really sorry to hear the news JT. Take it easy, play your guitar as much and as loud as you can.
-
JT-I greatly admire your strength...I am going to dedicate a song to you tonight,bro-
..and drink a few for you as well...
wishing you peace-Shaman

Just to let you guys on this great forum know that John (jt) passed peacefully away at 0345 on Wednesday morning. Up tp last Thursday jt and I were talking about recording and finishing some of his demos off, but he took a massive turn for the worst over the weekend. He was a big fan of this site and BK pickups, and you guys have been a huge support over the last 16 rollercoaster months in John's life. He was playing guitar and arguing about football - well anything really - up till Monday morning. I said goodbye to him just 3 hours before he died. He insisted that I should have his Feline guitar - The Preacher - and I promised that I'd play it every day and get some recording done with it. So I guess sometime soon I'll register on this site myself! Thanks again evryone, and see ya soon. Chris
-
Condolences to you Chris, and Johns' family, you're all in my thoughts.
RIP jt, it was a pleasure having you around here, hope the man up there is treating you well now.

-
RIP
-
Never knew you JT, but may you RIP. :(
-
I've not been around much lately, so I just found out this terrible news from Johnny Mac who kindly PMed me.
This is an awful thing to happen, and JT will be sadly missed. I can't believe I missed the chance to at least say goodbye. :(
Rest easy fella, and my thoughts are with those who loved him.
