What's the chances of me getting a box for my AD30VT from a guitar shop? Slim? I don't see why they would give any away though like - where's the amp that came in it?
-
What do you mean, you want an amp housing or you want a box to be able to ship the amp?
-
A box so I can ship it.

Well maybe if you are a regular customer?
If you are shipping, why not get the courier to pack it? I recently receieved a JMP 2204 (mmmmmmm (again!)) that the courier packed quite well, I just removed a bin liner of bubblewrap.
Also, the valves were in bubblewrap, and jiffy bags inside the amp, and that filled with bubbledystoofs.

Oh. I never knew couriers pack the stuff. I guess I could try that.

Although I guess music shops need to keep a certain number of boxes for mail order, they seem to chuck most of them out.
I know it's no use to you being in NI, but the shops in Denmark Street dump loads of boxes on the pavement outside and they're happy for anyone to take them. You need to go early though, before the council does the rubbish collection.
I always seem to have loads of boxes around the place when I'm selling stuff. Which proves I'm still buying too much...

If you can find any shops on Denmark St that are still open ;) Seems to be a few of them that are empty now!

Yeah, it does seem to be "all change" recently. I don't go there so often nowadays, but last time I passed through it looked like Andy's was re-opening. Probably been bought by Music Ground or something.

It sucks being in NI, when something as, dare I say, simple is held back all because of where I am. :(

Depends on where abouts you are, if you are near Lisburn the guys in Music Matters are pretty decent about such things and if it makes their run to the recyclin centre easier then they won't complain.
Rob...

If you get the right guy, on the right day, in the right shop, you'll be grand. If you don't, though, well, forget it.
I think (guessing wildly) that the only big shop round these parts that carries the Vox AD line is Matchetts, which can be hit and miss.

I don't like the guys there, but I don't really have a choice I suppose :(

The short fella with the tight haircut is grand, but most of the other dudes are, well, tricky to say the least.

Isn't he like the manager guy? Actually, there's two shorts guys, lol.. I prefer being assisted by the guy with the dreads (if I remember), usually wears tartan trousers.
