hey guys. Looking to get a new pickup for my SC207. It's a basswood bodied guitar with a bolt on maple neck and rosewood fretboard.
I'm looking for something a bit tighter than the stock pickup with a good dose of mids (that aren't honky) and a biting highend that doesn't get too harsh Something that really growls and hits you in the chest while still having a dynamic and crisp lead tone.
I was thinking the Painkiller as I have one in my PRS or a Nailbomb. But I'm just looking for other suggestions just to be sure.

Painkiller, yes.

you should try a black dog or a painkiller.

Just ordered the Painkiller 7. I wasn't going to change it as the stock Duncan Designed sounds pretty good. But the Low B sounds a touch to flubby and this will give it a good kick. Now I wait :D

My Painkiller came through a few minutes ago. Pickups arrive really quickly these days, I remember I'd have to wait over a week before , this only took a few days. Nice one :D
Unfortunatly I don't have a 7 string set with me so I can't wire it in, so it'll have to wait a few days

Right I'm incredibly inpatient when it comes to my guitars so I put it in anyway
my god......it sounds frigging huge. It's exactly the tone I was looking for. Everything I love about the Painkiller is there and more. I'm over the moon, I'll try and record some clips soon for you all.
