Does anyone know why this says, not suitable for guitars with Nitro laquers?
http://www.thomann.de/gb/hercules_stands_gsp39wb_guitar_wallmount.htm
All of the wall stands on the Thomann site says it :s
Reorganising my room and want some guitar hangers, does anybody have something like this:

They look so damn cool, but is it secure enough with those 4 screws?

Rubber type stuff burns through Nitro finishes, is not pretty

Probably because it has some sort of rubber padding and rubber is always in a state of disintegration giving off sulphur gas
The sulphur melts nitro finishes making a real mess
I have seen this on so many Gibsons that it is almost unfunny
I owned a Les Paul that very quickly got marks in the finish from a stand
Some shops wrap silk or dusters around the rubber bits on stands
Nitro is way overrated in many ways IMO, even though I do like it
So often you see people posting about it because they have seen others post about it in vintage vs modern guitar discussions and they just quote verbatim what others have said without their own insight & research/experimentation into it

I don't think any of my guitars have a nitro finish... But please correct me if I'm wrong...
Ibanez RG42DXFM
ESP Horizon
ESP Viper Camp (some sort of satin finish)
Epiphone SG G400 Custom
Dean Exotica FM Acoustic
Warwick Rockbass Corvette

what about the quik lok stuff

No none of those guitars have nitro finishes. I used to use them for some of my guitars and never had a problem with them. I only took them down because I prefer to keep them in their cases out of the way of people.

4 screws would be fine, is the wall brick or plasterboard? As long as the correct size drill bit is used for the raw plugs it would be fine. If its plasterboard over brick make sure you go into the brick also, there will be a gap in between the two, just make sure some brick/mortar dust appears on your drill bit.
Stud walls would require plaster plugs but should still be fine.

It'll go into one of my brick walls, cheers for the help dude. Will be going down the road and buying some tommorow methinks.

How do you guys think the Hercules hanger would go with an asymmetrical strat-type headstock? Do you think it'd be a problem? :-\
