Anybody know how much they go for? Just wondering because I was checking this out.

Thought that was a pretty low price for an 86 Greco.

Well it's in kind of rough shape so I'd say it's about right. I bought my '84 Greco John Sykes model for 600USD in great shape, well worth it.
-
well it's pretty beaten up, not sure if it's worth that kinda money - would have to play it to be able to decide really ...
On the other hand, beaten up as it is, it must sound darn good, otherwise noone would've wanted to spend so much time with it right?
-
Very true. Wish it wasn't so beaten to cr@p. :?

I think it's a bit pricey for a guitar in that bad shape, especially with a neck break. I know they say a well-repaired neck break can be stronger than the original neck, but it's enough to put me off.
The problem with working out the values of Japanese guitars is that they usually have a number of models at different price points, which look very similar but the details are different - finish, hardware, quality of timber. When it's 15 or 20 years old it's very hard to figure out if you're looking at a mid-price model or a top-of-the-range one, and there's not a great deal of reference info out there to help.
I have two Tokais, an SG-75 and an SG-155. They look and feel very similar, but one was nearly twice the price of the other. To most people, they're just "Japanese Tokai SGs" - the model numbers don't mean much, and they're not written on the guitars so in a few years they'll be forgotten. I could probably make my money back on the 75, but I bet I'd lose loads on the 155.
-
I didn't notice the neck break at first glance, but now that you mention it I see it.
I would definitely pass on this one. Keep checking ebay and you will find one in better shape and for a decent price. When patience outweighs GAS you always win!

I would say that the one in Germany is pretty expensive for the condition it is in.
Have you also thought about looking at the Burny LP Customs?

I paid £220 for my 1981 Black 3 humbucker les paul custom. That was in pretty good shape & was solid body with long tennon.
(Although i had to refret it and three BK pickups pushed the total cost up to £600. )
I'm pretty sure you can find better grecos out there, for the money.
-
I paid £180 for one just like that, albeit in far better shape. It was awesome...

I have actually only recently become aware of the Burny LP. Can't say i really know much about them.

:D Don`t but it !!!!!
LP`s are notorious for breaks at the neck/headstock. Always & I do mean always insists on seeing a pic of that particular part of any LP. Gibbo or other.
Greco LP tend to go for around £400. Do you just want a Greco ? If not send me a personal message.

:D That looks to me like it`s had a neck break. If you look at the pic of it from the top of that pic.
If your not certain ask for a pic of him to take one and put it up or send it to your email address. If he doesn`t or claims he has but it never arrives, then avoid buying.
