What a nice fella, has put up with numerous weird questions over a few months or so until I settled on this one..went to try today....kinda from first note thought yes want that......tomorrow gets full crank..with all guitars

forgot spec...handbuilt by martin at martamp
It’s basically a Marshall type preamp, with 2 x 6V6s instead of EL34s, so it gives about 20w instead of 50w.
It also has a mode switch, which reconfigures the preamp from “Plexi” (early JTM type preamp) to “Ali” (later JMP metal panel preamp). The Plexi mode does fantastic cleans, and a nice juicy, bluesy crunch. Ali mode tightens the bass for a better hard rock sound.
Pretty much as you would get with the difference between a JTM45 and a JMP50
...sweet

Nice one matey :)
I've played that amp a couple of times and it does sound great ,a proper "little Marshall". Enjoy it!
-
I intend to....going to crank tomorrow with all my guitars

I knew it :) !It's a real beauty !Congrats and have fun ! 8) (A clip maybe?)

Great amp, I looked at his site yesterday (as he is one of the few official power scaling guys in Europe).
I would also LOVE some clips.
-
if I wasn't looking forward to seeing ya soon, I will be now :D
-
Congrats - a magnificent amp !!
Strangely I've got a pair of 6V6's just waiting to be put into either my 1987 plexi or my 2204, which would be very similar in tone to your amp I suspect.
This is all unless I sell both the amps first , of course ! (personal amp dilemmas again !!)

MMM ACDC, GNR etc classic rock heaven

Looks stunning! Glad you like it!
-
Like isn't quite the word..when finish having so much fun will try to post a clip or two
-
I love the green. I want one...! Mmmmmmmmmmm! I hate being skint!
-
Yup am there now..nothing else for a while and am having to sell my TT and slave head
-
looks very nice indeed, bet it sounds soooo much better than it looks though
-
It really looks like a great amp. Also it sounds like it will be really practical (I love 6V6 amps - they have just enough power to kick without going overboard, and they have a really sweet driven tone). I can see that I might have to pay a visit to see the martamps at some point when I am back home!

is a nice fella..would ring first to see what he has in to try...(am now so tempted by his cabs to match though in green...will have to wait a little)

Are they made by Jeff @ Matamp?
-
Looks very nice!
It's an unusual colour but it goes well with the gold panels. :)
-
Think Martin makes his own cabs
-
Some cabs are made by Jeff at Matamp and some are made by Martin - it depends on what you're buying :)
