for me this has to be Italian, and to be more specific, Speghetti Bolognase.
-
I do love chicken and diane sauce

Diane sauce? :o Many a Ms. Diane must have died for that sauce!
Sushi for me.
-
Chip butties.
-
does chocolate count?
-
There are too many nice foods to just pick one but I love chinese and italian.
does chocolate count?
You... woman! :P
-
Chips and Steak ( had a great time in england :D )
Chicken (fried steak [like nuggets], rosted chest, etc)
Sandwiches, Pizza (I've eaten a very italian pizza with 3 italians from different parts of the country in London and the Brazillian pizza is WAY better!)
Any kind of cakes and candys that has chocolate!
-
Can't answer that I guess. I enjoy meat in general. Used to really enjoy lamb, so my mother only cooked that for about 2 years, got sick of it, in favour of pork... same outcome. Beef now...
But, Black Rock Grill!!! (http://www.blackrockgrill.co.uk)
-
generally everything that doesnt contain mushrooms
cooking an asparagus risotto (left laura stirring for a few minutes) at the moment, got some nice crusty bread plastered with butter and the rest of the bottle of wine i brought to make it with will need drinking.... proper indulgent comfort food!!!
-
It's a real tough one between a good lamb curry, reasonably hot, and chicken fajitas with salsa, sour cream, guacamole, fried onions and peppers. Mmmm, just makes me salivate thinking about it! Both washed down with a good beer, but it depends on the weather/mood for which beer it'll be :)
Edit: Wes, mushroom risotto is where it's at!! It's quite therapeutic making a risotto. I don't think i've quite perfected the art of a perfect risotto yet, but there's still time!

You... woman! :P

-
Probably tuna sashimi. And pickled ginger.
Or steak.
-
Sushi. Everytime.
-
Go to New World in Soho and order a Barbecue Duck - You will not be dissapointed. Really.
-
I'd go for Italian every time and pizza if I really had to choose.
Pizza baked in a proper stone-oven is just far superior - the ones I had in Rome were to die for.
I'm trying to convince the missus that this pizza place in Rome (Dar Poeta) is worth the trip alone, she ain't havin' none of it, ha ha.
-
Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian. I loves that stuffs.

Chinese takeaway.
Crispy chili beef
Beef chow mein
Char sue (Pork) in Cantonese sauce
Aromatic duck
Spring roll
Egg fried rice with cashew nuts
Sweet and sour sauce.
I am drooling right now.
-
Any Asian food, basically. Malaysian curry dishes are delicious.
-
I'm very fond of food in general, which is why I'm getting fatter all the time :( (though not at the "dimpled knuckles" stage yet...).
Eating out, I love Japanese (not necessarily sushi), Chinese, Thai, Indian, poncey modern food, you name it. Not particularly fond of Italian because I don't really like tomato or cheese sauces (fine with raw tomato or solid cheese, though  ).
Eating in, I never have takeaways; when I cook, it's always healthy stuff but I'm lazy so I end up eating a lot of bread. And cereal. And like Dave, I'm one of the girls when it comes to chocolate.
And to be really specific about favourite (and least favourite) foods ever:
Hate: Butter, tomato ketchup and squid.
Love: Green lentils and crunchy peanut butter (not together!)
-
Oh yes, I forgot... gyudon - food fit for saints.
-
Oh yes, I forgot... gyudon - food fit for saints.
Whats that? :D
-
Anything BBQ'd or Mexican.
Anything my Dad cooks basically.
Also my girlfriend makes a mean Lasagna!
-
bEeR - beer is food! Also Pizza as a side dish to go with it. Which is why I look like a ball!
-
Anything french! except maybe snails.. yet to try.
I could live off a never ending baguette.
-
Curry. Which kind varies, but in a blanket sense curry wins. ]
Gotta be good curry though: non of this too-much-sauce, lazily prepared just-throw-the-spices-in rubbish.
The fact that my dad is from india and I've been schooled in the ways of curry from infancy probably has a lot to do with that.
Failing that, steak. Blue.
-
Do you enjoy insects? :D
Ewww no, what are you, a Freudian?! You might enjoy having sexual intercourse with family members and not to be a wet blanket, but I don't think we're related so don't get your hopes up... oh I'm sorry, I misread you.
-

Usually translated as 'beef bowl' - basically a bowl of rice with beef on top (and pickled ginger). "Cheap, quick and tasty" as the slogan goes. Japanese fast food, basically.
-

haha, at least i'm not the only one.
-
I dont get the chocolate thing. At all.
When I was 10 I'd have agreed whole-heartedly, but I dont remember the last time I had any. Its been quite a few months for sure. And even then the chances are I didnt want it or buy it, but had a little piece when offered.
-
i had some chocolate orange about 20 minutes ago...

Italian, French and Thai. I used to e curry mad and still love them but would have something different now if given the choice.
Not hear of gyudon before Charon sounds good though.
My new girlfriends cooking is bloody marvelous, the best cooking woman i've ever had by a mile. She bakes lovely cakes too and she's brilliant in other rooms in the house!

Oh I though you read "chinese food" too, but was wrong... sorry :P
Ah I ate Indian food when I was there.... once was enough for a life... :(

Ah, but the "Indian" food we eat in the UK has nothing to do with what people actually eat in India!

Hummm don't know if I would try it again
Only liked the bread they had...

I love the curry mile. Only been there a few times but it has great memories for me - and I love the way you can take your own beer into many of the restaurants (not sure if they still do this though!)
-
The best foodstuff on the planet is BRIOCHE! AAAH SO GOOD!
-

Very true. I had an Indian flatmate and if his food is anything to go by, it is bloody repulsive. It absolutely stinks and tastes vile, plus the smell lingers in the kitchen for ages. Nasty. Give me a nice tikka masala :)

The food Anjum Anand cooks on her TV show always looks really nice - and relatively healthy too. But I expect she incorporates "World" influences as well as authentic Indian ones.
-
Maybe my flatmate was just a cr@p cook then  Oh and he's a vegitarian which doesnt exactly help on the flavour front :P
-
I'm not widely travelled but the best place I've encountered for food so far is Singapore (runner up Madrid). If you ever get a chance, go.
1) food is cheep.
2) food is good.
3) every form of western & Asian food imaginable is available
Indian, Indonesian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese ...
4) perfect for vegetarians
5) German beer widely available.
6) Crocodile porridge on tap.
Downside, one of the expensive hotels was advertising each meal comes with a complementary glass of Swiss white wine. Insider tip: Austrian wine makes an excellent substitute for WD40 but I draw the line at Swiss wine.
-
BBQ:ed elk meat, beer and potatoes, carrots, onions..... that stuff will keep you going for a long time
-
Swiss wine is great ------ in a fondue :D
