Plus the 'board:

(No, it's not just for home.  However I'm not lugging both cabs to a gig anytime soon......)

please stop... please.

I thought you enjoyed the Blackstar pedal with the M45 for home? I was considering something similar in the future, why the change?
What speakers are in the cabs? V30 / G12H and K100 or hot 100's or something

I've fallen out of love with the Blackstar.  It's a great pedal, but it just didn't sound full enough to me.  I like a tone with a lot of low mids and it just didn't quite do it.  I've kept it though, as I think it's an awesome stomper.

The bottom cab has a V30/G12H Heritage X-pattern, and the top cab has a G12T-75/Hot 100 X-pattern.  Two nice mixes which work well.

Thanks must go to 'Fourth Feline' for the purchase of the Matamp cab.  I believe my cash has been re-invested in a pair of MQs  :)

That looks godly :) I wonder how the V30/G12H combo would work with a Laney, I'm still debating as to whether I should try it in a 2x12

Nice rig.

I love how the lead from the delay is just the right length to get into the amp.  :D

This just makes me very excited about getting my Martamp
I wish my other half would let me get 2 4x12's in the living room
I could only persuade her enough to let me get a 1x12 cab in my home set up

That is actually quite scary.

I don't think I could even reach the amp on top of those two cabs.

Good choice you went for some Xotic pedals there. The RC is unbeatable awesomeness.

Matt77 what martamp you getting?

And looking at that makes me want either a 4x12 or 2x12 martamp....have adapted the 1936 to be ported at the back(better but not as good as the matamp or martamp)

I believe Matt has a power scaled 18 or 36 watter on the way, I can't remember which, with a matching 1x12.

Matt, I have your burgundy/gold cabinets in the workshop now. I have to say they look superb!  8)
I should get the amp finished this weekend, then I just have to wait for the front and rear plates to be engraved.

Sambo, your consignment is with a courier now, I'm waiting in for it. The cabinet is half built and again, I'll have to wait for plates to be engraved, but we're nearly there!

Nice set up Dave!

Cheers mate.  I haven't hooked both cabs up yet, just the top one.  I think I'll have to try both when I get home.......

I do indeed have a power scaled 18w Roadstar with a matching 1x12 on the way and I'm very pleased to hear Martin is close to finishing it so quickly. Always good when a new amp day is on the horizon.

This thread has become a Martamp social club!

Overkill - I think so !!

Seriously, a half stack is more than enough for home use !

I know that Alan - I was only joking  ;)

I've got the two 4x12s for a bit of speaker variety when gigging  :)

not bad twinfan, not bad. a little conservative, if anything. do you seriously think a mere full stack will be heard above your washing machine?

I had much the same thought, unless it's a picture of the mother-in-law that's conveniently covered up !

OK, forgive my total ignorance, but I'm going to ask anyway....

What exactly does the Xotic RC Booster do?  Is it comparable to something like the DOD 250 or am I barking up the wrong tree altogether?

It's a clean booster Phil, with an active bass/treble EQ.  But it also has a gain control so you can dial in a bit of dirt if you want it.  It's like a really subtle low gain overdrive come clean boost.

If that makes sense!

So in a way it simply "makes the sound better"? Sounds like you could almost just leave it on all the time!

If you look at the picture at the start of the thread, Sam, there's the top edge of a picture frame peeking out just above the amp head (it's not a handle!)

Yep, a lot of people use it that way I think.  I use it as a solo booster to make the soud really 'stand out'.

My neightbours are pretty laid back and no-one has complained about he noise.  Yet......

Hey, twinfan, I've got a Matamp cab and the Xotic RC and BB too! Great minds think alike, although I've only got a wussy 1x12 in my living room.

I can't switch the RC off - it really is an all-purpose tone enhancer and pushes the front end of an amp beautifully. I consider it an integral part of my amp: it just happens to be on the outside ...
