Im from West Yorkshire, Huddersfield to be more precise. Im just wondering as most ppl hear are from the UK. Might help everyone finding local people find others to talk about the shops/rehearsal rooms and anything etc.
-
Cumbria england. There are only a few music shops in my town. Rainbow Music is the best, theres also this other one but they only sell acoustics.
-
Ahh am in East Yorkshire... Hull
-
There's also a strong 'ampshire contingent lurking on the board. Personally, I'm from North Baddesley, near Southampton.
-
I'm up in Glasgow.
I think there are a few of us on these boards.
-
Machinehead, your from Glasgow, with a goldtop with emeralds in...are you sure your not Brian Robertson?

I estimate that I have approximately 5% of Brian Robertson's talent ... so sadly no :D

I'm originally from Bingley in West Yorkshire, but I am living in Hoboken, New Jersey, just across the river from Manhattan. Many years ago I used to manage JSG music in Bingley (it is now Spectre Sound). In New York we are spoiled for choice with music shops.
-
A village called Loddington which is a few miles away from Kettering in Northamptonshire. cr@p music scene here with only one good local band that I know of :\
At uni I'm in Leicester which isnt that far away either.

Southside here as well, and yeah the Queens Park murder is a shocker.

It's in Cheadle, about 20 mins out of the city centre. If you're going by train, the nearest station is "Heald Green", and it's about a 20 minute walk from there.
-
Currently I live in Birmingham, but I'm moving home to Dunfermline in just over a week, where, in a town with 4% of the population there is 10 times the amount of live music
And, fingers crossed, with the Soundcontrol now owned by a single person who I know and who's a proper gear nut, I might eventually have a good shop in my hometown. :)
-
I'm in Swansea, South Wales.
-
Ravensthorpe, West Yorkshire but you already knew that Dave.
-
I'm currently in Macclesfield, which as stated before is way too close to Soundsgreat! Originally from the darkest depths of Wales.
-
Now - Frankfurt, Germany via

Epson, Surrey, UK (boring, boring, boring)
Oxford, UK (student Disneyland, worst place in the world) via
Manchester, UK via
Liverpool, UK (didn't I steal your video?)

London town - now in Brockley, also in London. But I once lived in Hitchin and also Cambridge, but they were way too slow.
-
I'm in Streatham, South London. Been here since 1990.
Born in Swansea, lived there until I was 18 (apart from a year in Belfast), went to University in Bath, lived in Hemel Hempstead for a few years, then moved to where I am now. And I'd love to move again, if I can ever get organised into doing it.

I have a unique accent
-
I live in Sutton In Ashfield, about 12 miles or so outside Nottingham.
There's only 3 music shops anywhere near me, 2 of which are 'multi purpose' music shops and don't sell too much in the way of guitars :?
-
From the West Country (UK) originally, school in Bristol, university Exeter, then moved to Surrey for a good few years.
But I've been in Tooting, London for nearly 10 years now... is it that long? It was only meant to be temporary while I sorted myself out... :?
-

-
Ravensthorpe, West Yorkshire but you already knew that Dave.

I made the mistake of having 2 glasses of wine when I was recovering from glandular fever, christ did I feel bad afterwards (the answer is yes I did)
Heh I was on the Guiness Foregn Extra on Saturday night (along with some Belgan raspberry beer too), If I had known I would have had an extra one for you
-
I'm in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK.
I despise this place but i haven't found anywhere i'd particularly want to live to put the effort into moving...
-

Yeah, very long time ago though, I was only 2 or 3 so I remember almost nothing about it.
My dad was working there in 1966-67, my brother was born in Dundonald Hospital.
-
I was in Stafford when I was at uni. Now I'm back in Corby, Northants living with my mum until I get a 'Proper' job Or get on a teacher training course.
-
Bethnal Green, London, at the moment...
-
Born in Sweden but moved to UK when I was about 3.
Raised in Rugby, Warwickshire. Went to Loughborough Uni and now I live between Rugby and Leicester in a small village called Sapcote (or Village of the Damned as my mate puts it).
Looking at moving to Cornwall (right down Lands End direction) or New Zealand.
-
Another Yorkshire ( Leeds ) resident here in the U.K. I can therefore sympathise with Adam M's comments - and envy Phil King for being a 'man of the world' ...
-
I was born in Victory Memorial hospital in Brooklyn, a borough of New York City.
I was raised in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, later moved to the Bensonhurst section of ... Brooklyn! My family lived right where Saturday Night Fever and The French Connection was filmed.
Since moving out of my parent's house, I have lived in the Marine Park, Gravesend and Gerritsen Beach sections of Brooklyn. The record store that was blown up for the move A Bronx Tale was located right on the corner of my 2nd apartment.
-
Used to live in Purley, but now reside in Woldingham, just near Caterham (not too far from Croydon).
gwEm: i'll be kicking around your parts after the summer- SAE London is moving premises, so i'll be travelling there most days to uni :)
-
私は日本からある!
-
Looks Like I'm the first American to post. I'm from California, but I currently reside in New Bern, North Carolina, USA, until I graduate high school. (Am a Senior now!) But I used to live in High Wycome, any of you know it? My dad is a Marine, that's why. 8)

er... look 3 posts above
-
I'm from Helsinki, Finland. Lived here all my life, love the place. Would like to move abroad for a year or two once I graduate, just to get some more perspective on... life :)
-
I grew up around Barking and Dagenham (East London/ Essex), which makes me an Essex girl (we do not have a good reputation in England). Although in my defence I moved away pretty quickly.
-
Now: Living in Oxford, working in London (Chelsea) and Sutton, Surrey
before that: Hull (did most of my growing up (!) there)
before that: Bath.

I have yet to realise the 'effect' of moving.
I've moved three times, but in the same city but I was too young to remember much. But now I'm going to Uni.. which is overseas. Which is a little daunting now I think about it :!:
-
Aww I didn't get to say where I was from....Essex originally and I don't care ( even though I have lived in Sussex for nearly as long as I lived in Essex). Mrs 38th is an Essex girl too even though she too had "emigrated" to Surrey at aged 2.
-
I'll raise a glass to Essex girls - my sister is one, and my wife is now an honourary Essex girl, albeit via Coventry.
I'm an Essex man, a county that I love dearly, for all its peculiarities... such as aggressive drivers, pollution, and Basildon. It's also a place where you find some of the nicest people in the world.
Mark.
-
I think Essex's reputation is largely undeserved - some of my best friends live in Essex, and it seems pretty nice to me. Certainly compared to where I live...
I dare say there are horrible bits, but it's a pretty big county.
-
Living in Belfast at the minute, but born amongst the bushes and the rushes of County Tyrone, in a wee place called the Moy.
The very small NI chapter on here should have a few pints some evening. Duke of York, anyone?

I'd second that motion.
My dad's an Essex boy, and my grandparents live in Essex, and it's great around there! Everyone's friendly, the countryside is gorgeous and goes on forever, there seems to be about zero crime...
I guess it's like anywhere - there's always gonna be the dodgy bits...

Winchmore Hill, part of Enfield in Greater London.

Born and bred in Allentown PA (USA). Now live in Gloucestershire in a little village called the Leigh (UK). Although there is a very strong celtic streak in me, and i think Ireland would be a place i would want to live when i'm older... depending if it gets much more expensive to live over there
-
Cornwall. Isnt Bareknuckle now based in Cornwall, in Falmouth?
-
I'm American/German, having a American dad and a German mom and I have lived in both countries, though now I'm living in England in Lewisham, London. I'll move to Birmingham in fall though.
-
Born and bred in Allentown PA (USA).

-

we'll have to sort it out sometime though!
