Title: Building a cab - need advice!

I've checked out the other cab building threds and have a pretty good idea about what i want to do and how to do it but would like to know...

Does it matter what type of wood you build the cab out of?

usually they say ply birch 18mm and 15mm baffle

but the flat pack one I got was 18mm pine, 15mm birch ply baffle and back boards
