Title: Hunter @ LGS
Post by: hunter on June 15, 2008, 06:35:31 PM
Had quite some fun, it wasn't extremely great, but some highlights were there.

Biggest impression was definitely Marshall and Chris George's demo of the white RandyRhoads stack ... he said it was on 1 !!!! It was loud, damn loud, and great great tone. Also loved his spalted maple LAG Imperator.

Here my misses, I think she's never been more pretty :O)

Randall has some new low priced Kirk Hammet models... but who wants to sound like Kirk anyways? Where is the Mesa James Hetfield Head?

Nothing more sexy than a black Orange!

Vox upgraded their modeling series with more processing power and more variations, looks more stylish and sounds better too as far as I can tell.

Never heard of Atlas Guitars before. They are nice, close, but not so innovative

Hmmm, I'd have one of those anytime ...

Someone take my wallet and hide it!!

Guitar Heaven at PRS ...

This is what the world has been waiting for ..?

Gretsch are just way cool!!!!!

Who knows this dude? :O) Cornford had a nice booth,

And I had to try one of those LAG Spalted Maple Imperators ... what 3,000GBP ?????

Let there be light!

This is a sweet setup!

Nice pics Hunter! I almost feel like I've been there! PRS stand has to be the favourite for me, but that's cos I'm now borderline obsessed with them.

Atlas Guitars have been around near me for a while - the guy who imports them lives in my city (I believe), so the local stores have been carrying them. They're Far East built, allegedly by hand, and the designs, as you've noted, aren't exactly original. They look nice, but I've never tried one. What did you think of the one you played?

It had a very round D neck, nice and a hand full, but not too chunky, the setup was rather high, but still played well and sounded round and smooth - I was missing the edge a bit ...

I really should get around to trying one - it's not like they're scarce around here! I'd be lying if i said I wasn't just a tiny bit tempted by their Tom Anderson style superstrats.

The setup at the bottom looks very Rob Chappers.

Nice pics, I wish I could have gone.

I got offered a free ticket last week, but didn't feel like going.  Especially since they didn't have stuff for sale this year (probably just as well for Hunter   ).

Great pictures Hunter,  ( oh he of the brilliant soundclips )  - some great things there for us to vicariously enjoy  :)

Although may I respectfully say that the best 'investment' you ever made was your good lady.

Like the amps she is leaning on - she will get even nicer with age.

That's Jim Marshall's daughter in the background. What a great wife she would make, inheriting the marshall company!

I did try a couple of years ago Phil. I think she must get a lot of guitar players coming on to her. She sort of gave me a get lost type of look and walked, ha ha!
The thing is though she is also a millionaire and has got enormous knockers!

Apparently Rob Chappers was at LGS :o :o That's better than all the 'big name' stars who were there!

I wish I went now just to meet him, I wonder if hes as funny in person as he is in his vids.

I'm surprised you are interested in a Marshall "rack"... Maybe you should show her your Koch?

Guys, please behave.

She has brought to us the Vintage Modern, the JVM, the RR, the JH RI ... we should speak respectful about her and honour the Marshall Heritage.
I am working in electronics business/marketing and as far as I can judge she is doing a very good job in bringing Marshall back to old glory with the right products and marketing approach, not sacrificing quality and creating a good brand buzz, she had all my respect!

Imagine this would be Tims daughter running the BKP show in 30 years, you would not speak about her like this.

Anyway, the Knackers thing was funny :)

I apologise to all who find my use of Johnny's Koch offensive.

I regret inserting it and will withdraw it immediately.

Should anything unpleasant issue from my playful use of Johnny's Koch, I would find it particularly hard to swallow.

I mean this most sincerely.

T.C Electronics were using twin studio tones on their demo stage, they sounded nice with the big effect units going through them. They had a cool voice effect unit too.

Did you go to the "try guitar pedal on headphones" one? Have you seen the vibrating base plate to stand on? Kinda like a Playstation vibrating controller, you felt the bass frequencies on your feet, although playing headphones. Was a cool idea I thought.

I had a go on their headphones but didn't notice the base plate.

Did you go on the roland V guitar thing, the expensive one? That thing is incredible!
