Title: Old guitar revamp!
Post by: Stevepage on June 30, 2008, 02:15:28 PM
For years my old Squier Strat (first guitar) was  sitting next to my wardrobe. It's had no strings for a couple of years and hasn't been played for years and years. So I got pretty bored and realised, I could get it up to playing condition again.

I already had a prewired pickgaurd laying around with a Seymour duncan JB trembucker in it with a volume knob etc. Stuck it straight into the Strat and here's how it looks now.

The action was very high on this one, I don't know how I managed to play it before. I stuck a piece of card in the next pocket which set the action perfectly. Straightened the truss rod a touch and corrected the saddle heights and it actually feels pretty decent now.

I've had this guitar since I was 12 (birthday present) after I'd been taking lessons at school for a few months. It started out as your typical Affinity Series Squier. I've now had it for almost 10 years and it's been a great starter. It now sounds and plays better than ever.

Superb!

There's a lot of modded Squiers around here...
